Y/N's POV:
As I walked into the lunch room looking around at the tables till my eyes landed on his table, he was sitting with the "freaks" of Hawkins High. As I thought about it, it made sense as to why he did it. He also played Dungeons and Dragons and he was an outcast, a nobody, just like them. But nonetheless, I liked him.
I had always felt ashamed that I liked him. I had rejected Lucas Sinclair earlier that school year because I hoped that one day I'd be with Michael. Besides, I'm pretty sure Lucas only asked me out because Max had just dumped him...again.
-Lucas Sinclair, my closest friend on the basketball team.
-Maxine Mayfield, Lucas Sinclair's ex-girlfriend, a mutual friend.
Then that's when I noticed that Eddie Munson, a senior, was standing at their table. He was rambling about something that I don't care about.
-Edward Munson, 'Eddie the freak Munson'. He's been a senior for 3 years now.
"You want something, freak?" I heard someone say from the other side of the room, that someone was none other than Jason Carver.
-Jason Carver, a close friend of mine.
I quickly looked back over to Eddie, since I was slightly curious as to what he'd said, he didn't say anything, though he just made a weird noise while sticking his tongue out...how mature.
I look away since I care even less now than I did before. I started walking over to where I could see Stephanie and our other friends sitting together. I could hear Eddie Munson yelling about something on the other side of the room, but I didn't bother to look back at him.
While looking around the lunch room from my seat, I noticed Dustin Henderson and Michael Wheeler standing at the end of their table with Eddie Munson holding on to their shoulders. I can tell that Eddie is talking to them but I can't hear what they are saying, not that I care anyway. I was just looking at him, Michael Wheeler, and how pretty he looked and how I'd never be able to be with him.
-Dustin Henderson, we're nothing more than mutual friends.
-Michael Wheeler, my crush since forever, we're nothing more than mutual friends.
"Y/N/N," I snapped back to reality, looking at whoever was calling my name. It was Jason.
"Yeah, Jason?" He was staring back at me while I talked. "Is something wrong?" I asked him questioningly.
"Is something wrong?" He laughed slightly as the confused look on my face grew "Y/N/N, you're staring over at Eddie the freak Munson and his freak squad. I should be asking you if something is wrong."
"Oh, I was just..." I was trying to make an excuse but I couldn't think of one on the spot.
"Don't tell me you like one of them?" Jason said, practically laughing in my face.
"Me? No, Jason, you're crazy," I laughed it off "I was just zoned out"
"Again?" Stephanie cuts into our conversation, nothing new. "I bet she likes Michael Wheeler," she says, looking over to Jason and then back to me for a reaction.
"What? No, I don't" I said somewhat defensively. Now I was annoyed. "I was just zoned out"
"Yeah right, Y/N, you only zone out while staring at him?" Stephanie stated cockily like she knows everything.
"Whatever" I muttered out, not wanting to talk about this anymore.

Mike's POV:
Lunch just ended.
As I walked out of the lunch room I couldn't help but think about Y/N, and how she was looking at me during math. Maybe it was just nothing, plus it's not like she likes me anyway...she's way too good for me, she's kind, she's pretty, and she's popular and on the cheering team. Most importantly, I have my wonderful girlfriend, El, who I am going to visit in California tomorrow. I can't possibly fall for another girl now of all times.
As I am lost in thought, I remember I have to find a replacement for Lucas for the final campaign of our DND game. While I'm thinking of who I should ask, I see her, Y/N Y/L/N, walking toward me. I looked around to see if there were any other cheerleaders around or basketball players around, but I didn't see any. For a second, I thought she was...coming to me?
"Michael," she says to me with a growing smile on her face, Y/N is talking to me.
