ALL WE DO
-all i did was fail today-

I walk into the Hale household, straight into the living room where Juniper was, surprisingly, sitting with her husband.

"Ciro?" She glances at me, "What can i do for you?"

I look at Declan but put my eyes back on Juniper, "Where's Keilani?"

"She's still in Europe, why?"

I gave her a week to cool down from our stupid little fight and i still haven't heard back from her. "I haven't heard from her in a week." I look at Declan, "Bet if i tell her your dumbass is at the house, she'll return quick enough."

Juniper ushers me out of the living room, "I have Declan under control, don't insert yourself." She takes her phone out of her pocket, calling Keilani.

It rings a couple of times before she answers, "Hey momma." She answers, sounding tired, almost exhausted.

"Keilani, what are you doing?" She asks.

"I just got off my flight to France. What can i do for you?"

Juniper hands me the phone.

"Keilani." I clear my throat.

She goes dead silent.

"Amore, listen. I know we had a fight before you left but that doesn't give you the right to ignore my calls and texts for a week straight when you're in an damn foreign country, understand?" I raise my voice.

She sighs, "I'm busy."

"Yeah, well spare your fucking boyfriend 5 minutes." I walk away from Juniper, out into their yard. I take a breath, "How are you?"

"Fine. Busy."

Is she being serious?

"Keilani if you're still mad at me, i'm going to fucking scream."

"I'm not mad at you."

"Then why the fuck won't you return my calls?"

"I told you. I'm busy-"

"Don't lie to me baby, you know i hate liars."

She stays silent.

"Keilani, you're driving me fucking insane."

She takes a shaky breath, "Uh... Ciro i don't wanna be with you anymore."

Fuck off.

"Shut the fuck up." I tut.

"This is exactly why." She chokes on her words.

"Stop fucking lying to me, Keilani. If you're going to break up with me at least have the decency to tell me the fucking truth." I spit out. She isn't breaking up with me.

She's silent again for a good while, soft sniffs in the background, "I uhm... I slept with someone else."

I physically feel my stomach drop.

"You're lying."

"No... I'm not." She takes a deep breath. "Sorry." She hangs up.

I call her again, several times, she doesn't answer any of them.

She didn't.

I know she didn't.

She's lying.

She has to be lying.

I walk into the house, Juniper looks at me, "So..."

"Find out what she's hiding." I give her the phone back.
