7:12 AM

Nothing really important happened yesterday so I didn't update the journal, but I'm writing this update because I feel somewhat guilty for not writing yesterday. Anyways, on a radio Me and Erick found earlier, we learnt that the alarms we heard were false, and everything was fine. Erick seemed relieved, but I was still suspicious of why the alarms were on for so long if it was a "false alarm". The smoke show's preparation seems to be coming along well, if you ignore the chemicals. I'm sorry for seeming so paranoid, it's just all this sudden work is raising my suspicions on what Sir Topham Hat might be thinking about. Currently, Me and Erick are preparing to set off with these trucks we're meant to leave off at Great Waterton. Hopefully things go well, or this might just be the last update in this journal.

11:49 AM

I'm terrified. I'll try my best to calm down for this update. So what happened was we arrived at Great Waterton and left the trucks for a tender engine named "Neville", but when we were leaving, the alarms went off. Erick assumed it was just another false alarm, but not me. I immediately told Erick to shovel in some more coal into Duck's firebox, and thank God we did. Some sort of massive cloud formed in the air, and it didn't take us long to figure out that the worst had happened. We heard Neville scream in agony while we were speeding away, he must've got the full effects of the chemicals judging by how close he was. We were going full speed when I realized that the cloud was spreading rather quickly, meaning we needed to get to safety fast. While we were fleeing the cloud, we passed Donald, a Scottish tender engine. Duck tried his best to give Donald a warning, but was cut off by Donald's scream. We assumed the worst that Donald was also a lost cause. We just hope his twin Douglas will be okay without him if he is. We were starting to run out of coal, when we saw Daniel the signalman and yelled for him to switch the points. Thank God he did, as if he didn't we'd be dead right now. Eventually we were able to slip into an empty shed and shut the doors so the cloud just passed right by us. Erick is currently understandably panicking in a corner, and Duck is crying  because he couldn't warn Donald in time. We're currently waiting for the cloud to pass so we can grab more supplies, and hopefully find survivors. I'll update this journal once we find out if it'll be safe.

3:33 PM

It's been almost 5 hours, and yet we still haven't heard if it was safe to leave. Erick and I have calmed down now, and Duck has stopped crying, but he's still upset about Donald. Hopefully we'll be able to leave the shed soon.

4:12 PM

We've finally got a message on the radio saying that the cloud has passed, but we still don't know the current mutation level. We decided to set off to find supplies after convincing Duck to go too. We decided we'd go to Knapford Station after we finished gathering supplies, if there's anyone still alive, they'd probably be around Knapford Station. While we were gathering supplies at a nearby supermarket, Duck swore he saw Edward race by, but he couldn't see if he was mutated. We're heading to Knapford now, so I'll update this journal when we're back.

6:57 PM

Turns out the chemicals hit quite a lot of people. When we arrived at Knapford, everyone was either dead or mutated. It was a total blood bath! There was one man who had his legs cut off and was just crawling around moaning helplessly. His eyes were pitch black and blood was coming out of his mouth. We decided to put him and anyone else alive but affected out of their misery. Erick pulled out his Beretta 92F, and shot anyone affected dead. Duck began to hyperventilate, and I don't blame him one bit. We only got a little food, barely any, before leaving as we couldn't bare our eyes on all the corpses. We went to the little western in hopes to find Oliver or his crew, to no avail. Me and Duck were seriously concerned, as Oliver was his best friend, and Oliver's fireman, Sean, is my brother. We're in Duck and Oliver's shed, just trying to process all that happened today. The sudden shock of all of this is overwhelming me. We decided to just stay in the shed until tomorrow as we seriously need to calm down.

9:08 PM

Duck and Erick has fallen asleep, but I'm still awake. I'm worried for my wife, my brother, and all my friends. I'm gonna try to fall asleep, thought I doubt it will help at all. Tomorrow we're going to search for survivors, then we're gonna try figuring out what exactly happened and what caused the sudden leak.
