Chapter 11

"Again"

Shinsou fell on the floor with a grunt as he was kicked down the floor.

Shinsou gritted his teeth in frustration for being told the same thing 20 times. He clenched his fists and glared at the dark-haired girl with her blindfold.  He got up and looked straight into her blindfold with a determined gaze. He got into a stance and charged at her with a force going with a right kick,  Yosōijō dodged seamlessly and used her bo-staff to swipe his left leg. Shinsou tripped but used the momentum and his hands to push himself from the floor, using his feet to kick at her.  

Yosōijō barely dodged that and skipped back. She then charged at him and used her staff to stab him with consecutive swipes in tow. Shinsou couldn't dodge all so afforded to use his arms to block some.  Yosōijō stabbed her bo-staff into the ground and used it to swing in the air to kick Shinsou in the chest with her two feet.

"Argh", Shinsou's grunt could be heard as he landed on the floor. He looked up only to be met with the ending of  Yosōijō's staff.  There was silence as the two observed the other in hopes to catch the slightest movement.

"I concede", He grumbled with his hands up in the air in surrender.  Yosōijō said nothing but softly smiled and reached her out for him to grab. Shinsou quietly did so and dusted himself off. 

 "You did well, Shin-Kun",  Yosōijō said softly.

"You think so?", Shinsou responded with an eyebrow raised.

" I know so. You have improved quite well over the past two years. Don't you agree Grandpa?"

Grandpa glanced at the two while he nimbly dodged a punch from Rei, "Yes dear, I agree with you. At least he is not a worm like he was the last two years. Quite the improvement if I do say myself."

As you can see dear readers, Our lovely trio are having training in preparation for the UA entrance exams in eight months. While they are quite excellent in what they do,  Yosōijō and Rei couldn't help but train with Shinsou to give him emotional support.

Shinsou was determined. Ever since their discussion two months ago at the end of their middle school year, Shinsou wanted to not let his two years of training go to waste. Albeit a little nervous about the future, he was confident he would be able to pull through with his friends by his side.

Back to our story, we see Rei laughing at Grandpa Li's comment about Shinsou only to have his head boinked by Grandpa Li himself.

"Who said you are exempted? You still fight like a lizard after all the years of training I have given you"

"Owww Old man Li, is there anyone who you approve of? Why do you bully this amazing student?", Rei complained with tears in his eyes due to the pain of the hit.

"Of course I do, My beautiful amazing Granddaughter Yosōijō, She is a thousand if not a million times better than you and still has a lot more space to improve", Grandpa Li said with his chest puffed up in pride.

"Damn Nepotism", Rei mumbled. Unfortunately, that was heard by Grandpa Li.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY BRAT!!! COME HERE LET ME GIVE YOU A GOOD TRAINING REGIME"

It didn't take long for screams of Rei to rebound in the training hall. All other students that were learning under Granpa Li ignored the already frequent scene that played out before them.

Shinsou chuckled darkly at Rei's situation and glanced at  Yosōijō only to see her blushing in embarrassment and fidgeting at the situation. He sighed, already expecting this and patted her head with his hand. 

"You deserve the praise Yosōijō, You are one of the best around here"

"That doesn't mean I am the best,  I still have a long way to go."
