Company 8

After the events he experienced the day before, Ace found out a lot more about the world he was in. Turns out he lived in this new world and was actually trying to become a fire solider. He doesn't know why when he died in his world, he was teleported to this one. But the man from the day before was right, he was their new member along with this boy known as Shinra.

The both of them were standing in front of company eight's building which seemed very old despite them being a new company. Shinra was thinking the same thing as he sigh and said "If I'm gonna be on the force, I'd rather be on the elite company one." The door open as a man with glasses peak his head out the door. "Shinra, Ace, come in" he told the two of them. The two of them went inside as the man asked "So, you think it's run down?"

"N-Not at all!" Shinra said, embarrassed that the man heard him. "It's a little run down if I'm honest" Ace said as Shinra was shock that he would say that out loud. "If you don't like it, then you can leave" the man told him as they got to an office like area. "Excuse me, sir" Shinra said. "Oh, there you are! I'm the captain of special fire force company eight, Akitaru Obi" the captain told them as he was upside down while doing exercise.

"You could at least stop training long enough to greet the new recruits" the man with glasses told him. "Oh right" Obi said as he got down. "Takehisa Hinawa, lieutenant of dilapidated old company eight" the man with glasses introduce himself. "Anyway Shinra, this picture on your resume, what were you smiling about?" Obi asked him.

"Apparently I have a habit of grinning any time I get nervous or something happens to make my face tense sir" Shinra told them. Everyone around him was confuse as they had an confuse expression on their faces. "I mean I smile when I get nervous on the outside sir" Shinra explained more simpler. "Oh, yeah I get it" Obi said as he suddenly got so close to his face.

Being so close to his face forced Shinra to smile which caused Obi to start laughing. Ace chuckle as he said "Wow, that's really true?" He lit his hand on fire as he got it close to Shinra's face to see him get nervous, causing him to smile. Ace started laughing along with Obi as Shinra was not liking this. "Sorry kid, you're cute! You're gonna give a loft of people the wrong idea you know" Obi told him.

"Yes sir! I am not taking you for a chump sir!" Shinra told him. Ace calmed down from laughing as he wrapped his arm around Shinra's neck. "I'm sorry too for laughing. Let's become friends!" Ace told him, confusing Shinra. "Ok you two, why did you want to join the force?" Obi asked them. "Well sir, I'm here to be a hero" Shinra told him while giving off a smile. "I'm just here to make a name for myself" Ace said as in reality he didn't know why his other self signed up for the first place.

"I don't have a problem with heroics, but fire soldiers work together. There's no I in team" Obi told Shinra. "And Ace, I think it's nice you want to make a name for yourself, but it won't happen right away. Stuff like that takes time. "

"A hero? But I understand that at the academy they called you the devil because of an incident from your childhood?" Hinawa told Shinra. Shinra didn't respond as Hinawa continue. "Digging into people's past isn't really my thing, but it sounds to me that both of you are just punk kids with bad rap who joined the force to earn some points. And you say you want to be a hero? You want to make a name for yourself?"

Shinra didn't say anything but Ace spoke up. "Yeah, I want to make a name for myself. The reason so people can know your past doesn't have to choose who you have to be" Ace said. Ever since he was born people hated the idea of Roger having a son. So just for being born people had already hated him. Both Hinawa and Shinra looked at him as two people came. 

One of them was the nun that Ace had save while the other was a black hair girl. "Thank you again for earlier" Iris told Ace. Ace chuckle and said "It's no problem" before giving a smile. "He is the one" the other girl said as Iris hit her in the head. "How come he isn't wearing our uniform?" Maki asked.

"I just prefer to dress like this" Ace said as he was wearing an open shirt that showed off his chest and shorts. "In here, we wear uniforms. It protects us from the fire and allows people to know you're part of the fire force" Hinawa said. Ace didn't like the idea so much since he's so used to not wearing that many clothing on him.

"I'll get him a uniform" Maki said as she left for a while before bringing one back. Ace took it and put it on, fitting him nice. "Are they in a good length?" Maki asked. "Actually, yeah" Ace said. "Maki's the one who took up the hem to accommodate your power" Obi told him. "Huh?" Ace said confuse, as he didn't understood that much he just said.

"Excuse me captain Obi, it's about time we-"

"All right! Now that everybody's here, how about we get started" Obi said as he lay on his table and started lifting weights. "No, we're not here for training, we're having a meeting" Hinawa said. "People die for all kinds of reason. Old age, suicide, illness" Obi said as he lifting the weights. "I guess this could be consider a kid of terminal illness" he said as he put the weights down.

"In our world today, the number one most terrifying cause of death is death by fire" Obi said, as Shinra stood there in silence. "No one, not even those of us in this room, knows when or who it will strike next. Every human being living on earth live in fear of spontaneous human combustion." Obi then explain of the first human combustion and how each of the generations began forming. 

"The new unit special fire force company 8 consist of two second generation soldiers. They can't ignite their own flames, but they can manipulate and control fire. Two third generation fire soldiers who one has the ability to light his feet on fire, while the other could turn his whole tier body into fire. Then there's me, a firefighter turned fire solider with no powers. And our nun, who offers prayers for the infernal souls, and that makes six. We're still short on personnel, we need a science team and an engineer. But with our powers combines, we can solve the mystery of the spontaneous human combustion!"

"Now, any questions!?" Obi asked as everyone was silent until Ace raise his hand. "Yes, Ace!" Obi said as he pointed at him. "Yeah, question. Can you explain all of that again but in a much more simpler version?" Ace asked as everyone fell to the floor anime style.

Time Skip brought you by Ace falling asleep while eating

It was night time as both Ace and Shinra were about to go to bed. Shinra was already asleep as Ace was still awake as he look up at the bed above him. 'This world sure is weird. Theirs no pirates, marines, or devil fruits. Everyone just have fire powers and consider themselves fire soldiers' Ace said in his head.

He turn to the side as continue thinking. 'I wonder if the world I'm from still exists. Is Luffy alright? Did he ever became the pirate king?' Ace said in his head as he then chuckle. 'Why am I doubting him, of course he's going to be the pirate king. An even better one than the devil people call my father.' Ace slowly close his eyes as he fell asleep.

It didn't feel like a couple of minutes have past as an alarm went off. "The alarm!" Shinra said as he sat up on his bed. Make came inside their room and said "Ace, Shinra! It's an infernal! Be ready in 30 seconds!" The both of them got out of their beds and said "We're ready!"

"You guys can change in the matchbox!" Maki told them as they were running in the hall. After getting dressed, Obi was telling them what was going on. "An infernal has ignited in the Torigoe district! We're rolling out! Get in the matchbox!" Obi told them as they got inside a tank like vehicle.

"This is your chance on being a hero" Obi told Shinra as Shinra did his smile. Obi then turn to Ace and said "And you can finally make a name for yourself." Ace nodded as he look ready for his first mission.
