The Beam of Light

Sometimes I wish that I had never found out my true name or that I was a sorcerer or that my two twin sisters were sorcerers as well(we're technically triplets but who cares?). I sometimes wish that I had never found out any of these things but I did and now I have to start living with it. It all started, I guess, when that big stream of energy appeared in the sky on Saturday..."You sure have moves, Roxie!" Caelen and I walked down the street, fingers intertwined, arms almost touching. "I never knew you could move like that" I hid my face in embarrassment as Caelen shimmed his way down the street, twirling me along with him. I tripped over and we fell, rolling down the steep, grassy bank, over and over again. We stopped, Caelen on top of me, fingers intertwined. I looked up into his hypnotic sea green eyes and saw them getting closer, his lips brushing against mine, his hands gently lifting my hair out of the way. Then it was over and he was helping me up. I stumbled against him and he steadied me, then, when he was sure I wasn't about to fall over, took my hand gently in his and lead me home. We reached the front door and he pulled me in close, hands around my waist, and kissed me again, softly, so softly I barely felt it then he pulled away.

"I had a really nice time tonight," Caelen said, "I hope I can see you again soon."

"Me too" I replied, my breath taken away by his beauty. I walked up to my front door, turning around as I reached it, lifting my hand in farewell.

"Bye" He said, but for once I wasn't listening to that sweet melody of a voice, I was looking over his shoulder. "What?" He questioned turning around as he did so. A big stream of energy was splitting the sky above London, clear to everyone in the city. Caelen cursed and looked back around at me as my sisters, Victoria and Rosie, charged out the house staring, open-mouthed, at the sky.

"WHAT is THAT?" Victoria had run forward to get a closer look at the energy beam and was now standing beside Caelen at the end of the path leading up to our house.

"I'm afraid I'll have to cut our date short, sorry Roxie. See you again soon, I'll call you."

And with that, Caelen turned down the dark street and ran towards the beam of light.
