...And Punches

I turned my palms face down, towards the people and pushed against the...air? One of the women stumbled backwards, her side of the beam broke and that's when my sisters struck. Rosie flew up, landing on one of the men, making him stumble backwards. Victoria disappeared and was suddenly by the side of the other women. The women was so startled by this she stumbled backwards, turned, ran across the deserted square and into one of the tall apartment buildings that no-one wanted to live in. Now only two men were left. They seemed undisturbed by the attack and were still pouring all their energy into the beam. I nodded silently at first Rosie then Victoria. I mouthed at them, 1...2...3! We all sprang, Rosie and Victoria going for one, me for the other. I landed with my legs over his shoulders, facing him. His look of shock spurred me on and I put all my weight forward, finally toppling him. His head made a sickening crack as it hit the floor. I stepped off his limp body and checked for a pulse. He was out cold. I looked over to see how my sisters were getting on, Victoria was holding the mans arms back as Rosie punched him again and again. It was the man who had flung Caelen back! As I neared I heard that Rosie was saying something over and over. Each time she got to a point in it her punches would increase in ferocity. "You hurt Caelen and I LIKE Caelen!!!" Rosie was repeating this over and over. Finally the man slumped in Victoria's arms and she placed him down gently. I heard a groan come from somewhere behind me...Caelen! Turning, I ran towards him followed closely by Vicky and Rosie.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" I babbled away asking every question under the sun while my sisters stood, tense, alert, watching for another attack.

"Um...." Caelen opened his eyes, obviously dazed. He had that look that new borns have when they first come into our world. "Where am I?" Then, as if he'd just remembered why he was laying on the floor in a pile of what smelled suspiciously like wee, "You have to go! The people...they're...they're going to hurt you more than you've ever been hurt before! RUN!" He tried standing up, but a fit of dizziness overwhelmed him and he fell back down.

"It's alright," I assured him, "We...um...kinda knocked out four of them but one of them escaped," I pointed to the deserted apartment block that the women had escaped into, "We couldn't stop her. Sorry."

"Um...how?" He had the sort of look you get if you given a really had maths question that you don't have the first clue how to solve.

"Oh, you know, a bit of ninja skills!" We laughed and I helped him up.

"Uh..Roxie? We have an issue over here" Rosie had come over and crouched down beside us and was now standing up, and looking nervously around. I looked around. Police sirens were splitting the night, getting louder every second. People were starting to appear all over the square, out of alleyways and dark corners. The crowds were getting bigger. Soon we wouldn't be able to get out. I looked at my sisters.

"Let's go" We headed back over to the wall we'd jumped. Luckily, the crowds hadn't reached here. Caelen stumbled and fell. I ran to help him.

"No, go. I'll be fine, but if you're caught then it's all over. What will your parents say? No, leave me." I looked into Caelens crystal blue eyes and shook my head.

"No." I heaved him up, and Vicky came to help. With one of Caelens arms around my shoulder and the other round Vickys shoulder.

"Together?" I nodded. "1..2..3." We jumped as powerfully as we could and sailed over the wall, touching down lightly on the other side. Rosie landed lightly beside us, and we ran. Round the corner, down the road, and through our front door. We heard police cars race by the house, the lights illuminating everything inside. Silently, we crept up the stairs, trying our hardest not to wake our parents. We struggled into my room, and lay Caelen down on my bed.
