Notes – I'm making male Anodites blue in this universe just to differentiate between the two.

"Alert! Alert! Alert! Unfamiliar wielder detected! Unfamiliar wielder detected!"
"Ben Tennyson is not in the database!"
"7... 6..."

"What is going on?" Kevin says from his walkie-talkie Plumber's badge.
"It doesn't recognize me!"
"5... 4..."

Ben states frantically,
"What the—now how the heck does that happen!!"
"I don't know! But what happens when it reaches zero?" Ben says with a grave look in his eyes.

Kevin got the memo and says,
"Oh dude... that is not good!"
"Yeah, you think!!" Ben says, exasperated.

Somewhere past the Anodyne solar system and near the Milky Way galaxy

Sunny and Verdona fly at top speeds, past anything a human has ever built and most likely will build in the next 2000 years.

Sunny, for the third time that lightyear, asks,
"Are we there yet!?"
"Patience, dear, your immaturity is showing."
"I'll tell you when we get there."
"Ugh—fine, whatever."
"There's a good Anodite," Verdona mocks as she chuckles, making Sunny grow angry.

"Are you sure this energy signal you sensed is even around here?" she declares.
"What would a level of energy that high be doing in a place like this anyhow?"
"Well, I can tell you, but you may not like the answer," Verdona says worriedly.
"Oh just tell me. I'm a big girl. I can take it."
"Okay then, if you insist. There are two likely scenarios that may take place due to this immense energy signal. The first being an intergalactic tyrant craving more and more power." (Vilgax cough)
"And the second is the one I hope doesn't take place."
"Wait—what could be worse than a powerful power-hungry dictator?" Sunny asks with her finger toward her chin.

"If Gwen went rogue and abandoned her Anodite form, then she would quite possibly destroy the Earth. Remember, her power is immense—even with no formal training, she's at a level comparable to you."
"Besides the fact that you compared Gwen's power with mine, which is not true—I'm way stronger—what gives you the idea that she would even go rogue to begin with?"
"It's just a feeling I guess. When you've been around as long as me, you pick up on the slight imbalances of the universe, like a mother caring for a newborn."

Sunny got weirded out by Verdona's analogy of the universe, but she keeps it to herself. They both keep flying toward Earth.
They will arrive in approximately 2 Earth hours.

Back to the Omnitrix malfunction

"3... 2... 1. DNA sample transfer shall now begin. Gathering predetermined DNA from existing DNA."

As the robotic voice spoke, a chill ran down Ben's spine. He shuts his eyes again, preparing for the worst to come. And then... it finally happened.

"Ugh, ahh!" Ben began howling in pain.
"What's going on? Are you alright, Ben? Ben!?"

"Do you read me, bro?"

Ben was not able to hear. He was in too much pain—so many different feelings were running their course that he didn't have the time or energy to focus on anything else.

The electricity continued for a couple of seconds until finally, it stopped. One final flash occurred. This flash was so blinding it made the other one look like a flicker.

When it faded, we see an unfamiliar sight. Where Ben was supposed to be, this strange being took his place. But this creature is, in fact, Ben—and was laying passed out on the ground with the Omnitrix on his wrist.

Kevin ran toward Ben, frantically trying to check up on his best friend.
"Yo—yo, Ben, are you alright there, buddy? Hey!"

When he got no response, there was only one option. He picked up Ben and loaded him up in his trusty trunk.

"Well, can't have people seeing a blue humanoid embodiment of power now, can we?" Kevin states sarcastically to soothe the dire situation.

He drives back to the only person he knows who may offer a remedy—Gwen's place.

Kevin's inner monologue: (Man, what the heck just happened to Ben? What in the world did he turn into anyways? I've never seen that transformation before—I didn't even know it existed!)
"I really hope Gwen knows what to do," he states out loud.

About two hours pass on the road to get to Gwen's place, and before he can even knock on the door, it slams open—showing a worried, frantic Gwen Tennyson.

"Where is he? Where is Ben?" she asks, concerned.
"He's fine—I put him in the trunk."

She quickly runs toward the trunk, pulling him out.
"Help me out, Kevin!"

They both pick him up and carry him into the house—into her living room.
