Sam's POV

Freddie was finally cleared to go to school today. No one thought to tell me. I guess I really was avoiding them too much. Or were they avoiding me? I couldn't tell. I'd have to ask Spencer. He'd know after all, he was Carly's brother. I should bring Gibby as a bullet monkey...just in case Spencer tries to hit me with a paintball. I'm losing my train of thought.

As soon as I saw Freddie at school, I cracked a joke. "Benson, nice to see you have a leg to stand on." I couldn't help it. Freddie rolled his eyes. "Sammy, how are you?" I narrowed my eyes. "I've told you before not to call me Sammy."

"But I-"

"But you nothing. I said told you not to."

"Fine. How are you, Sam?" Freddie bit out.

What a drama queen. Honestly. I should have never allowed him to use Sammy to begin with. Sammy was reserved for specific people. Family members. I could count them on one hand. And just to prove it, I will. Obviously, my mom. After all, she made up the nickname. Melanie was allowed to call me Sammy if I was allowed to call her Mel; which I was. Cousin Chaz and Uncle Carmine were allowed to call me Sammy. They got a free pass because they were my favorite cousin and my favorite uncle.

Well...I also let people I went to juvi with call me Sammy. However, that's a whole different thing. Ol' Sammy with the butter sock sounds a lot better than Ol' Sam with the butter sock. So can you blame me?

I rolled my eyes. "I'm fine, Benson. What's with the red and blue? I've been wanting to ask you."

"Why haven't you?"

"Oh I didn't want Crazy to know I thought she'd force you to wear a white cast."

"Since when did... nevermind. You promise you won't laugh?"

"I make no such promises."

Freddie sighed at my words but I didn't really find myself caring all that much. His happiness wasn't, nor had it ever been, my problem. "I thought about getting purple."

He paused and stared at me. Like he was trying to gauge my reaction. I just felt indifferent about it. I didn't have any specific reaction. Purple was a color I'd always felt attached to but couldn't place why. Maybe because in every matching outfit we ever wore, Melanie wore pink and I wore purple? Now we never matched. I usually wore tomboyish clothes or the color red. She wore girlier clothes and almost always the color pink.

Freddie continued cautiously. "But I figured you'd laugh at me or someone else would. So I decided on the colors that make up purple. Red and blue." Freddie's eyes seemed to go wide when I opened my mouth then closed it again. It took me a minute but I finally settled on. "Benson, that's the dorkiest thing ever. Go find your girlfriend. I gotta go hang out with Gibby."

Gibby's POV

This week had been Hell. The first few times Sam hit me and pushed me over, I'd just accepted it. It was pretty normal for Sam; especially if Freddie wasn't around. It didn't bother me if I was her substitute punching bag. Yeah I wasn't the biggest fan of being beat up but I knew it was temporary. But my mind was changed when I noticed that Sam started spending more time around me. It was creeping me out. It only proceeded to get worse whenever someone would mention Carly and Freddie she'd punch me or give me a wedgie. I let it go. I saw the look in her eyes every time. She was hurt by the implications of Freddie's perfect match being Carly. However, when Freddie was cleared to come back to school something dark hid behind her eyes. I couldn't bring myself to ask about it. That is until she marched up to me and pushed me into my locker angrily. "I really hate you! I wish there were words to describe how much."

"Me or Freddie?"

"What?"

"I think you are mad at Freddie, not me."

She gave me a dirty look. "What?"

"If Fre-" She cut me off by shoving me into the locker again. "Shut up, nub. I don't care about anything that dork does. And I'll break your thumbs again if you suggest different!" I nodded profusely and she walked away. So reasoning with Sam wouldn't work...but I probably should have already guessed that. I could talk to Freddie? But he'll probably take it the wrong way. He'll probably take it as me blaming him and Carly for Sam's actions. I could talk to Carly. No, everyone knew she was useless when she was obsessed with a guy. Looks like I'd have to talk to Spencer or T-Bo. Surely, they could help me figure this mess out.

Freddie's POV

It was my first day back at school since I saved Carly's life and I couldn't lie it was surprisingly perfect. Okay so maybe not perfect but close. Sam was talking to me again but she seemed a little short tempered with me. It might have been my imagination though. I mean Sam is always short tempered so why was today any different. Carly Shay is my girlfriend. I think. I'm pretty sure. That's what everyone thinks and what I want to think too. It's the dream I've wanted since sixth grade. I just hope she doesn't change her mind again. Well, I guess, it's just Carly. Wait...just Carly? I'm probably overwhelmed because of the other thing that happened today. Girls are noticing me. They are noticing me for something other than my tech skills or the fact I'm part of iCarly. They are thinking of me as a hero and noticing that!

"Carly!"

"Freddie, how's your day going?"

"Good, yours?"

"Better." She pressed a kiss to my lips and I smiled into it. I heard something slam into a locker so I broke away from Carly. I saw Sam with Gibby slammed up against his locker. I couldn't tell what they were talking about but it seemed to be a very heated conversation. "Should we go help him?" I questioned with lopsided frown. Carly looked at the clock. "I gotta get to, Mrs.Briggs' class. I refuse to get detention with that woman ever again. But I guess we should check what's going on."

We walked over to our two friends but Sam was already walking away. "Hey, Gib. What was that about?" Gibby's eyes darted around. "Artistic differences? Her artistic opinion is she can replace a void. Mine is that this whole situation is jank." Carly seemed more confused than me. She kissed my cheek then hurried off to class. "Well I'll see you around, Gibby."

"Wait, Freddie!"

"Yeah?"

"Nevermind, it's more of a Spencer question."

"Alright."

Gibby's POV

At lunch time, I snuck off school grounds with Sam. Partially because she convinced me and partially because I needed to go where she was going anyways. She had enough money for one smoothie and wanted to have a smoothie for lunch. Meanwhile I needed some T-Bo style advice.

T-Bo's POV

Gibby and Sam came in around 12:30PM. Now I'm used to this from Sam and occasionally she drags Freddie along. But never have I seen her come to the Groovy Smoothie during school hours with Gibby. Actually the only time she comes with Gibby is when both Carly and Freddie are also present. This was gonna be interesting. Sam came up order Strawberry Splat then sat down. Gibby took his time staring at the menu. "You want a bagel?" I asked in my normal enthusiastic voice. "Sure. And Blueberry Blitz." Gibby responded. "Alright. Now you have something on your mind. I can tell." I started making the smoothies and hadn't yet told him the bagels weren't ready for another thirty minutes. "Yeah. Freddie saved Carly's life." He spoked dejectedly and I shrugged. "That's good, right?"

"Well it would be but it caused a problem."

"What problem?"

"Well Carly decided she's in love with Freddie...."

"So they're dating?" I continued for the normally happy boy.

He nodded. "And I guess Sam is feeling left out because I'm her new punching bag." I took this in with a slow breath. "Okay, good to know." I muttered. I handed him, his and Sam's smoothies. "I'll give you the bagels before you leave."
