(John B and Sarah in the shop in obx1, pre relationship, but extra.)

"Hurry up." Sarah said, drumming her fingers against the chair's armrest. They had places to be. If they wanted to make this work, John B had to look presentable. He was never going to get into the library looking like he'd just jumped out of a romance as the edgy pogue criminal. So, she'd taken him shopping.
"No." His voice was muffled from behind the curtain. Sarah groaned and looked to the ceiling.
"Just get your ass out here. Lot to do, not a lot of time to do it." She said. She heard him sigh.
"I look stupid."

Sarah felt herself smile slightly as she led her head back on the wall. "You said that about the glasses but do you remember what I said?"
The silence was long, broken by the quiet, relcutant voice of John B Routledge.
"It looks fine." He said. Sarah muttered under her breath.
"No. I said it looks good. Say it to me."
"What?"
"Say I look good." She said.
"You look good." He said. She laughed.
"No, dumbass."
Jake sighed. "I look good."

Sarah nodded. "Alright. You gonna come out now? God it feels like I'm taking a kid shopping."
"Hey! I told you not to take me anywhere." He protested. She heard movement from behind the red curtain and had half a mind to just yank it open.
"Well I did so stop whining. You have to look your best if you're going to get a top paying job to spy on you-know-who."
John B huffed. "Yeah I know."
"So get your ass out here! Seriously! I'm starting to think you're just a scaredy cat."
"Hey."
Sarah smirked and backed away from the curtain. "Just a scared little dude."
Silence. Sarah's smirk wasn't going anywhere. She reached out for the curtain.
"Just scared—"

The curtain flung open and she was almost knocked off her feet. He strode out of the changing room, forcing her to stumble backwards until her back thudded into a wall. He looked her in the eye, blinking far too slowly for her already strained heart to handle. She took a breath.
"I'm not scared." He growled. Hastily, she pinned the smirk onto her face again.
"Sure. Now let me look at you."

With a glare, he stepped back. Only then could she take a proper breath, albeit shaky.

She probably looked at him way too long.

Damn he looks good in a suit. She thought, scanning every rise and fall in the material. Getting changed had sent his hair a mess, strands in his face, but there was nothing new there. The suit itself was nothing special, neither was the slim tie, but they'd had it tapered to fit him perfectly. Her eyes flitted to the unamused, uninterested glare on his face and she smirked again. He simply looked at her through his lashes.
"Screw you, Val." He said.
Sarah pursed her lips, ignoring him."This should make you presentable, at least."
John B crossed his arms, "So I wasn't presentable before?"
She mused for a moment, playing, "No, not really. Attractive, yes. Presentable, yeah, not really."

Amused at the dumbfounded look on his face, she patted his shoulder before heading out.
"We'll pay once you take them off." She called back.

She could never let him know how badly she'd rather do that herself.
