"No, the signal's definitely coming from the moon. I'm blocking it, but it's trying to break through. Donna!" The Doctor scans the nearest computer to try as get through to Donna as the large moon hangs high up in the orange sky, River then cuts a square into the wall with her gun and walks through it into a different room.
"OK, we've got a clear spot. In, in, in! Right in the center. In the middle of the light, quickly. Don't let your shadows cross. Doctor," River calls out to him and he nods.
"I'm doing it," He responds as I try to help him with my pen.
"There are no lights here. Sunset's coming. We can't stay long. Have you found a live one?" River wonders and I shrug as we continue to try and get through to Donna.
"Maybe. It's getting harder to tell. What's wrong with you?" I growl in frustration.
"We're going to need a chicken leg. Who's got a chicken leg? Thanks, Dave," Dave hands River a chicken leg and she throws the meat into the shadow, and once again it is just bone before it hits the ground, I turn my head as I hear the bone hit the ground.
"Okay. Okay, we've got a hot one. Watch your feet, everyone," I tell them as I look at the shadow.
"They won't attack until there's enough of them. But they've got our scent now. They're coming," The Doctor points out as he gets on the ground and uses his Sonic under the benches.
"Oh, yeah, who is he? You haven't even told us. Do you just expect us to trust him? And what about her?"Other Dave points at us.
"He's The Doctor, and she is The Author," River tells him.
"And who are The Doctor and The Author?" Lux looks at River.
"The only story you'll ever tell if you survive them," River explains.
"We are not that bad, I don't think anyway," I look at River who just smiles at me.
"You say they are your friends, but he doesn't even know who you are, only she does," Anita points at me.
"Listen, all you need to know is this. I'd trust that man and his wife to the end of the universe. And actually, we've been," River deflects and I smile.
"River," I call out and she smiles at me once more.
"He doesn't act as if he trusts you," Anita points out, causing River and me to sigh.
"Yeah, there's a tiny problem. He hasn't met me yet," River reveals and I sadly smile at her as she walks over to The Doctor who is still scanning The Shadows.
"What did she mean that he hasn't met her yet?" Anita asks me.
"The Doctor and River's timelines are backward to each other, basically... as The Doctor moves forward in his timeline, River moves backward in his," I try my best to explain as I watch The Doctor and River talk.
"What's wrong with it?" River asks him as he fiddles with his Sonic."There's a signal coming from somewhere, interfering with it," he mutters.
"Then use the red settings," River suggests and I see the confusion on his face.
"It doesn't have a red setting," he tells her.
"Well, use the dampers," River shrugs as I walk over.
"It doesn't have dampers," He stops fiddling with the sonic as he just looks at her.
"It will do one day," River tells him as she holds out her sonic screwdriver for him to take.
"So, sometime in the future, I just give you my screwdriver," he assumes, and River nods.
