"Hey, Sannie!" a young boy called from the swing set.
San looked up from his toys and walked over to the boy calling him.
"Yes, Wooyoungie?" San asked with a laugh.
Wooyoung grinned at the boy and told him to sit on the swing next to him.
Once San sat down, Wooyoung started his fearful plan.
"Did your mom tell you about the monsters under our beds?"
A cold wind blew toward the boys, bringing dark clouds and a storm.
The wind blew hard enough to make the empty swings move as if ghosts were on them.
San's eyes widened at the mention of monsters and shivered as the wind blew stronger.
"No," San answered, trying not to stutter.
"Really? That's lame," Wooyoung leaned back a bit in his swing as he held onto the chains.
"Want me to tell you about them?" Wooyoung quickly asked.
San nodded his head. He did not want to look like a wimp in front of Wooyoung. Nor did he want to look like he knew about monsters.
"Yes, tell me about them!"
"Okay," Wooyoung stretched out the word as he sat straight back up again. "You better not cry to your mom. If you do, you will be a loser."
San shook his head as another wind pushed the ghosts on the swings.
"So, I heard monsters go under our beds and wait for us to go to sleep. And if we do," Wooyoung came closer to San as his eyes widened.
"They grab us from our feet and eat us!"
San gasped as Wooyoung got off his swing to stand in front of San.
"That's not all," Wooyoung shook his head and moved his icy fingers like worms across San's shoulders. "It is said that once they are done eating you...they take the form of our body and live like us!" Wooyoung shook San by his shoulders as he told his 'scary' story.
"Oh, no! That can't be true!" San shook his head before getting off the swings.
"What? Are you scared now?" Wooyoung asked, crossing his arms.
"No, I am just cold!" San defended himself as he shivered from the grasp of the biting winds.
"Yeah, right," Wooyoung shook his head before his mother called out for San.
"Well, we gotta go, but if you're ever scared...you can call me to help you," Wooyoung said before pulling San by the hand to their mothers.
"Really? Thanks, Wooyoungie!" San smiled at his friend.
"No problem, just remember-" Wooyoung stopped and gave him a stern look. "Don't tell your mom I told you."
San nodded as he promised he wouldn't.
The two boys ended up leaving the cold park with their mothers.
San watched the trees as he drove by.
The trees...they were watching him.
The unwelcomed and bitter winds had brought in a small rain storm and made the trees soak in fog.
San watched through the heavy rain as something moved along the forest as fast as the car. His eyes watered as he couldn't close his eyes in fear of what he saw.
The Something had long arms and legs with a thin and sickly body. Its outline was the only thing he could see.
His heart drummed louder than the rain hitting the roof.
