It was finally break. Science seemed to drag on for Hailey after her teacher yelled at the three of them for talking.

They did try to talk again. Well whisper would be the correct term. However, by the end of the lesson, they had more than found out that miss could probably hear a pin drop while there was fifty, yelling students in the classroom.

Their science teacher wasn't often one to give out more than warnings, but when she was in a bad mood, she really was. Now, Hailey had to deal with her third ever detention. Not just in that school, ever.

She wasn't really a trouble maker. More of a goodie - two - shoes who got away with most of the things she did that were wrong because of it.

However, because of this, she was waiting outside of her lesson for Jake because she didn't get the chance to ask him where they were meeting up.

They had all been held behind and asked about what they were talking about. Their science teacher decided to ask them all separately though, Hailey going first for 'saying the least'.

She was pretty sure the other two wouldn't say the whole truth even if they said a bit. Drew was quite stubborn and probably wouldn't even say a thing or act like he'd forgotten. Jake on the other hand would probably just say they were talking about random stuff. Nothing specific though.

Hailey herself had just said they'd began by helping each other find the page and it lead to a conversation. It wasn't an award winning excuse but it was a believable one. Mostly because half of the class does that and hardly ever gets caught or told off.

After about 3 more minutes of waiting, Jake came out of the room. "We're still on detention y'know. Unless Drew decides to say something absolutely life changing to stop her."

"Oh okay.," Hailey replied, still feeling a little down over having a detention, even if it was only for fifteen minutes at lunch.

At lunch — the words she thought about struck something in her making her remember she was gonna miss part of the music club's practice.

She quickly made herself remember the real reason they were talking though. "So, what exactly did you want to talk about?" Hailey asked, looking directly at the boy.

"I'll tell you know but can we maybe not talk here." Jake looked at the door and she immediately got the hint. "Okay so where do you wanna talk then?"

"Maybe just outside. Somewhere that the club won't notice maybe.. just incase.." He replied, shivering at the end of his sentence.

"Okay then. I know where they hang out so I'll tell you if they're to close," She responded. The two immediately headed outside the building and begun talking.

Their talks at first had nothing to do with the issue. It was just basic small talk to get them through the walk to a safe area to talk.

Hailey secretly suspected that Jake didn't want to be near the club because they didn't know the full story. She slowly stopped believing that because there was the possibility she had told one of the others at least enough information for them to understand.

"So what was it you wanted to talk about?" She asked, her facial expression becoming more serious the longer she waited for the boy to answer.

"The club, to apologise!" He responded. "Yeah I get that but what are you really gonna say? 'I'm sorry it was an accident?'"

"No I'm going to tell you the whole thing. Even it does sound a bit like an excuse! Even if you don't believe me when I finish telling you!" He argued back. "Please just let me explain."

"Okay.." Hailey bit her lip as he begun. "So on Tuesday, you know how I was going out with Drew and the others?" She nodded after being asked.

"Well I said those things then. That's how the video was recorded." He explained. "Okay then, so you're guilty?" She asked, confused on why this would be any form of apology.

"Yeah but I only said those things because the others put them in my head." He began to explain. "What?" Hailey immediately asked. "Why would they?"

"I don't know but they did. They kept saying you were using me and using things against you and it just got overwhelming and then I said it all." Jake took a breath after finishing. "I'm sorry."

"I want to forgive you. But how do I know you're not lying? How do I know you're not gonna do this to us again?" She asked. "Fair question."

He stood there for a second thinking. "I can't say something like this won't happen again but.. I don't know I-I.." Jake took a break from his answer to rethink if there was anyway he could prove his innocence.

"Who sent you that video?" He asked. "What's that supposed to do?" Hailey questioned, opening up the app that the video had been sent on.

"I just want to know who sent it. Maybe I have their number on my contacts. If it's one of my friends maybe I can prove that one of them did it." He explained.

"Okay then, this is the number." She showed the number. Jake typed it into his contact list that quickly that it may as well of been an immediate reaction.

His eyes widened as he looked at the contact that came up when he had finished. "Who was it?" Hailey asked, curiously.

Jake, still in shock, handed her the phone. "H-her." Hailey was quite shocked when she looked at it and saw Zoey's name above it. She was sort of expecting it to be one of the people at Drew's house when her friend had explained it.

However, she had thought it would've been Drew. Or at least someone who hated them to that extent. Hailey hadn't even considered that Zoey hated her enough to do anything to that extent.

"Okay so maybe you were telling the truth." She admitted. "I guess your story checks out for the most part."

"Can I ask something?" Jake asked. "Sure I guess."

"Am I forgiven?"
