His smirk broadened into a psychotic smile. "Hiya, sunshine. Long time no see, eh?"

Your mind reeled from the confirmation. This, this could not be Lloyd. The Lloyd you befriended in school, who taught you how to be spontaneous? To believe in love? No. It couldn't be.

But it was.

The Lloyd you knew was not a cruel man. You thought he couldn't hurt a fly, let alone kidnap you and your sister.

This was not the Lloyd you used to know. Not at all.

The memories crashed down upon you in waves, drowning you with the weight they left on your chest.

"Lloyd, stop it!" you laughed as he splashed you with water.

You were sitting on the edge of the Harvard pool, having snuck in with him. You were dry, and fully clothed as Lloyd stripped down to his boxers and jumped into the water.

You hadn't actually thought you'd be able to get in, so neither of you brought swimsuits or towels.

Taking a seat by the edge of the water as you watched the man you had met that morning swim, you laughed at the irony of the day.

It was your first day of school, and he was almost finished his degree. Late to class, you were rushing through the hall making sure you had the textbook you bought five minutes ago secured in your bag as you ran straight into his strong chest.

You cursed and apologized, and as you looked up your heart skipped a beat.

In front of you, covered in your coffee, was a tall handsome man in a sweatshirt and jeans, clean shaven with hair gelled back. He looked like your average college douche.

He looked at you for almost too long before he spoke. "Come swimming with me tonight," he asked you.

"What? I- I'm late for class..."

"Meet me outside the pool at 2, okay? I'll be waiting!"

He smiled and sauntered off, and you weren't thinking of going. As the time of the day ticked by, you realized this was college! It was supposed to be spontaneous and adventurous, and what better way than to go swimming with a stranger?

You two ended up spending the whole night together, swimming and laughing. You went to an all-night diner where Lloyd paid for your meal and smiled at you like you were the only thing in the world.

He made you realize that there were people in this world that knew how to make you feel special, make you feel like you were someone at all.

After that night, you lost contact with Llyod and didn't see him on campus again.

"Lloyd? What happened to you?" Your voice carried more hurt than anything, and you were oh so confused.

"Well, I graduated, and worked my cute lil' butt into the CIA. And here we are!"

Tears brimmed your eyes for the first time this night.

"Oh sweetheart, don't cry! The fun hasn't even started!"

It wasn't Lloyd himself who was making you cry, it was the shatter of the hope he had instilled in you- conscious or not.

The hope that there was someone who could make you feel like Lloyd made you feel that night.

The feeling that Six gave you that night two years ago.

It was like the ground below you had cracked, and there was nobody to blame but yourself. It was the type of deprecating feeling that made people take drastic measures to escape.
