Chapter nine

As I stood there, what seemed like frozen in time, I saw a figure levitating over the poster. They must have heard me there for they turned their head. As they turned their head I soon saw the face of Valery. Her piercing green eyes seemed to shoot spears through me! Her icy complexion sending goosebumps up my arm and shot shivers down my legs! We just kept our eyes locked together, staring at one another.

Valery was one of those girls no one except her parents could love, at least, like. But for some reason she got blessed with the beauty gens and so she was gorgeous! Honestly, deep down inside sometimes I felt that she was WAY prettier than me, but at the same time I knew she couldn't be, because when you could see the pretty outside, simotaniously you could see the black gunk that her heart was made up of! Only new jocks that came to school would like Valery and some of her friends. It was kinda like Means Girls, like Valery could be a sister to Regina George! Except, Valery had long blackish brown hair and green eyes, like a cat's. She was a tall fit girl which didn't help. Not to mention she was the filthy richest in the whole school and probably the whole city!!

As Valery and I kept our eyes fastened together, she spoke up.

" Well, well , well. If it isn't Coach's pet. Clumsy little Livia!" Valery snickered.

"What are you doing here?" I said almost choking on my words.

"I could ask the same thing."

I stood there silent.

"Well if you are not going to tell me", She said with a sly smile on her lips, " I'm signing up for the same thing you are I presume, by the way you have been running to this board every time we get out for lunch. It looks like you want to win pretty bad don't you?"

" Valery! You know 1D is my life and ever since Jer..." Valery cut me off.

" Oh yes, poor, poor Jerry. Your poor, dead brother." She cackled, "That's a shame you won't even ever get to meet them."

" Says who!" I exclaimed and I could feel warmth starting to flare in my cheeks!

"Cause, you don't know how to sing! I've been in chiror since 5th grade and I have won countless trophies and medals for my pricless voice. You'll never be able to carry a single note... if you even know what a note is? I'll be the only one who's winning this thing."

Just then Maddie ran up behind me. She could see how tense I was just standing there like a statue!

"Valery! You know how much Olivia loves One Direction and how much it would mean to her! You don't even know who all the band members are!"

" We'll just see about that!" Valery jeered, " I know more than you think. How many concerts have you been to Miss Diretioner? None? I thought so! I have been to  countless concerts and signings, and a ton more! And you know that blond one? He's my favorite!" She said knowing perfectly well that Niall was your idol!

Valery quickly signinged her signature snottily onto the sign-up sheet. She got up and neatly made an exit to go to lunch with the bunch of brats she sat with. I hung my head down knowing that Valery was right. I had never been to a concert which is why I wanted to see them all the much more!

" Maddie, where's Brooke?"

"She is in the Library, why?"

"I want to tell her I won't be needing the camera any more."I finished saying right when a tear went trickling down my downcast face.

My heart was broken. I had so much hope! I was all ready to take a shot! I had a hope of meeting my life savers!!

" Olivia Ann Meyers! You are not going into that Library, you are going to sign you name on the sheet. If you don't I'll do it for you! You LOVE 1D! More than anyone I know! And believe me, Valery CAN'T sing! I've been in the choir group with here for five years and I'm starting to think she doesn't know what a note is. And all those trophies were given to her by here parents and not because the judges thought she actually had a voice, now you Olivia, now you have a voice! I have heard you sing the showers after practice! I thought some one brought a radio in you sounded so good!"

I lifted my head to look into Maddie's hazel colored eyes. A slight smile widened across my mouth.

" There you go baby! Now go sign your name and let's go eat! I'm starving!" Maddie said reassuringly, as she threw her hands into the air gesturing everything was going to be alright.

After I shakily wrote my name down and had calmed down a bit, I locked arms with Maddie and we walked off to the cafeteria, now from the encouragement from my best friend, I had skip in my step and a smile on my lips.
