17. The Stalker

AAKANKSHA:

It's been more than a month since the day I accepted Karthik's love.

The most subtle word I can use to express how my life's been these days is 'happy'.

I can also use other words like ecstatic, exuberant, blissful, euphoric and so on. But I like to keep it simple 😜

Rahul came to pick me up to office as he has some meeting in that area.

The 2nd day of periods is the worst day of every month and if someone has cramps then God bless them, it will be horrible. I feel very tried and dizzy during these days, so I make sure that these two know where I was in case something happens.

"Have you told Karthik about that stalker?" Rahul asked after sometime.

"No. But I think he feels that I am hiding something from him. He tried to ask twice or thrice but I kinda changed the topic." I said sighing.

"As much as I hate to admit this, Rohit is correct. You should tell Karthik." He said

"Do you think I like hiding things from him? That creep is threatening Karthik's life! He is threatening me to leave Karthik. How should I say this to him? 'sorry, I can't be with you. Someone is stalking me and threatening. So tata, bubye, see you.'"

"It's not that simple Rahul. But I am sure he will burst out after knowing this." I sighed closing my eyes already getting tired.

"Fine. Do as you wish. Did you keep your tablets? Do you need anything else?" Rahul asked stopping infront of my building.

"Yea I have everything. If I want anything I will ask Karthik." I said getting down.

"Ofcourse, you have got a boyfriend now right. You don't need us for everything" he said scoffing.

My legs stopped mid air. I sat back and turned to face him.

"What did you just say?" I asked trying to be calm.

He stayed silent and looked ahead, his knuckles turning white with the grip he had on the steering wheel.

"I am not ignoring you guys, if you're implying that. FYI if it feels better, I asked you to drop me to office when I am in periods than my boyfriend. I hope you understand how important you are too." I said and got down without looking at him walked into the building.

KARTHIK:

Life's been perfect.

The girl I used to spend time, share long walks, talk for hours, be crazy like there's no tomorrow has accepted my love.

The Cherry I used to know is back with me.

But why do I feel like she is hiding something.

Always being jumpy, frowning at her phone, checking her surroundings, something is definitely wrong and I will find out today no matter what.

By the time I reached my cabin, my coffee was already waiting for me on the table and there's no sign of Cherry.

Sighing I started my work. After a few hours Saara came in to take some signatures.

"Where's Cherry?" I asked frowning. I haven't seen here since morning.

By now everyone in the office knows that we are a couple.

"She hasn't come out of her cabin sir. She seemed tired. So I didn't disturb her." She said taking the files.

"Okay." I said frowning.

I entered Cherry's cabin to see her leaned back in the chair with her eyes closed.

Going to her I gently ran my hand on her forehead.
