HANNAH (V.O):
Some girls know all the lyrics to each other's songs. They find harmonies in their laughter. Their linked elbows echo in tune. What if I can't hum on key? What if my melodies are the ones nobody hears?

ROCK CLIMBING- PRESENT

Tony and Clay rock climbing.

"Still can't believe you didn't take me with you, Tones." Cassie said.

"Cas, you been sick."

Cassie sighing but nodding her head.

CLAY: Whoo! We're really freaking high!

TONY: Don't think about it. Just remember, you gotta go slow if you want to climb fast.

CLAY: Alright.

Clay screams and starts to slip.

Lainie shrieks and holds onto both her husbands hand and her sons in worry.

LIBERTY HIGH- MR. PORTERS OFFICE- PRESENT

Mr. Porter and Clay sitting down in his office.

MR. PORTER: So, what happened out there in that hallway?

"I mean it was pretty obvious. It's called and mental/nervous breakdown. Have had those before." Cassie said making Jessica point her finger to the girl in agreement.

CLAY: I don't know. Tired I guess.

MR. PORTER: Tired. Tired of what?

"Life."

"Drama."

"School."

"People."

CLAY: Just tired.

MR. PORTER: Seems like you were angry. At this school. About Hannah.

CLAY: Aren't you.

MR. PORTER: Sure. Angry about another needless death. I'm sad about Hannah- and for all of us who- cared about her.

CLAY: So, are you gonna punish me or what?

MR. PORTER: Is that what you want me to do?

CLAY: Do you get a lot of kids coming in here asking for punishment?

MR. PORTER: What do you think your punishment should be?

"Isn't that your job?" Lily and Lainie question the man.

CLAY: Isn't that your job? I mean, it's not like your trained to be a shrink or anything, right?

MR. PORTER: No. But I like to think I can be helpful- to kids who are hurting, not in touch with what they're feeling, lonely-

CLAY: I'm not lonely.

MR. PORTER: Who May want to hurt themselves.

CLAY: Not gonna hurt myself.

MR. PORTER: Find their way out-

CLAY: You don't know what you're talking about.

MR. PORTER: Having a tough time-

CLAY: Hey, screw you!

MR. PORTER: Okay.

CLAY: I'm sorry.

MR. PORTER: No, that's okay. Your hurting and I wanna help. I wanna be there for you, Clay. I'm not gonna say I understand just what you're going through, but if you need to talk to me- I'll try.
