HANNAH (V.O):
I've got a question for you, Justin. Not the one you think.
Not yet.

People confused as to what Hannah was talking about.

LIBERTY HIGH- OUTSIDE BY FLAGPOLE- PRESENT

Shows the Liberty High School front gates.

HANNAH (V.O):
What's the best part of high school? The friends you make? The romance? No.

Bell rings.

Some people nod their heads at her statement saying that yeah those tended to be the best parts of school.

LIBERTY HIGH- OUTSIDE BY FLAGPOLE- PAST

Kids running and throwing their old assignments into the air.

HANNAH (V.O):
We both know the best part of high school is summer break. It's the great reset button.

"That too, but being able to see your friends everyday is better."

Hannah trying to squeeze her way through everyone.

People still throwing things into the air.

"Poor, Janitor Stevie." Cassie said remembering going over during the summer and helping him.

          "Who?" Fleamont asked his granddaughter.

"Janitor Stevie, one of my janitor friends. He spent a week picking up all the mess we left. I helped him after the second day. After I went to go get something I had left in my locker."

HANNAH (V.O):
And, after everything that happened to me sophomore year, I couldn't wait to start fresh. To tear the rest of the pages from my journal and forget it all.

CRESTMONT- PAST

Hannah in her work uniform.

Throwing away the trash, sweeping up all the popcorn from the floor.

HANNAH (V.O):
Except I didn't get very far. At work, my usual partner in crime was spending the summer with his Grandparents. His temporary replacement was nice enough, but entirely too normal.

Shows the new guy wiping down the front counter.

Courtney and her "friends" walking past the Baker girl and start to giggle.

"Stupid bitches." Cassie coughed out making Ginny and Jasmine nod their heads and giggle.

HANNAH (V.O):
And I couldn't escape my past.

Hannah rolls her eyes at the two girl that laughed at her.

BAKERS DRUGS- PAST

Olivia and Andy fighting.

OLIVIA: No, we didn't make a switch. You did. And you didn't discuss it with me!

ANDY: Listen, listen! The way we do business is making good decisions-
