I woke up in the morning feeling excited but also a bit nervous. I had a football match later today. People always tell me that I'm a great player but I still get nervous from time to time.
I showered and put on my clothes. I walked downstairs and saw my mother, my sisters and my stepfather Mark eating breakfast. I sat down with them and began eating.
"Morning mum" I said.
"Morning boobear" she replied.
"Mum, I've told you multiple times that I don't like that nickname" I complained.
"But why, boo? It's cute"
"It's embarrassing that's what it is"
"Well unfortunately, I'm not going to stop calling you that so you'll have to deal with it"
"Alright. Are you alright Fizzy?" I tried to converse with her. She just nodded in response. What was I expecting? She's an introvert. I don't understand how though. Everyone else in this house is more of an extrovert. But anyways, I asked Lottie if she was ready to leave for school.
"Lots, are you ready to leave?"
"Yeah, just go ahead. I'll meet you in the car" she replied.
"Okay, but don't take too long"
I walked out of the house and unlocked my car. I got into the driver's seat and waited for Lottie. I was driving her to school since we both attend the same high school.
She got into the car after I was waiting for five minutes. "Alright. We can leave now"
"Hold on. What were you doing in there? What took so long?" I questioned.
"Oh um I was just um... Daisy needed help with something" she answered. I didn't buy it though. Something was up but I let it slide for now.
"Alright. I'll just start driving then"
We sat in a comfortable silence and after ten minutes of driving we arrived. I parked in my usual spot and found Niall there waiting for me.
Lottie set off into the school while I talked to Niall. Niall is my best friend. We've been best friends ever since my ex-bestfriend Nick Grimshaw started acting weird after I met Niall.
"Tommo!" he greeted loudly. Did I mention he's very loud, energetic and Irish too.
"Nialler!" I imitated him.
"How's it going mate?" He asked.
"I'm alright. A bit nervous but I'm all good" I replied.
"Don't worry Louis. You'll be alright. There's no need to worry" he reassured me. That's what I loved about Niall. He always knew what to say to help me calm down.
We walked into the school and we headed to our lockers. Sadly Niall's locker isn't anywhere near mine so he went in another direction from me. I grabbed my stuff and headed to my first lesson.
~
It was lunchtime and I was sitting with Niall and some guys from the football team. Niall had so much food on the table. I honestly wasn't shocked. That boy could probably marry food considering how much he loved it.
I noticed a boy with curly hair sitting with Zayn and Liam. I don't think I've seen him before. I didn't realise I was so focused on him until Niall's fingers were snapping in front of my eyes.
"What's up mate? You're just staring in that direction" he said.
"Huh? Oh I'm fine" I replied.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm fine Niall. Really I'm alright"
I just continued eating my lunch avoiding the topic. Niall just forgot about the whole conversation we just had and continued eating.
~
It was five minutes before the match began and coach was currently giving us an inspirational speech.
"Alright boys, there's no need to stress on this game. Their team isn't even that tough. Just play exactly like we always practised and work together as a team. Try to find out their weaknesses and exploit them. I'm not saying cheat but do something along those lines. Louis, make sure the team is good out there. It's your responsibility as captain to make sure everything is in control. And finally-"
"Have fun?" One of my teammates asked.
"Haha no. What I was gonna say was make sure you work as a team and don't lose this match"
Everyone made a noise of agreement and walked out of the locker rooms. Both teams ran out onto the field. I got into my position and waited for the whistle.
Once the game began, it was obvious our team had the upper hand already. Soon, I got the ball and scored the first goal of the match.
One of the other team's players tackled one of ours and got the ball. We tried to get the ball and failed. Eventually, the opposing team scored a scored a goal. The score was now 1-1. The referee blew the whistle indicating it was halftime.
Both teams went to their locker rooms. Once we were sat on the benches in the locker room, coach started talking.
"Alright boys, so the score is 1-1 but that doesn't mean we're gonna lose. We still have an opportunity to score another goal or even more goals. So let's go win this thing boys!"
We all shouted in agreement and ran into the pitch. I was sure we were gonna win this. While playing, both teams tried to score but failed to do so. I started to lose hope when it was almost time for the game to end. I looked out into the crowd and happened to notice that curly headed lad again.
I had this sudden rush of adrenaline now. I ran and got the ball from the opposing team and as I was about to score, I ended up kicking the ball into the crowd. It hit that boy with the curly hair. I saw Zayn and Liam look at him with worried expressions but relaxed after a while.
The game ended with our team winning 2-1. The team was celebrating on the pitch but for some reason I had this urge to go and apologise to that lad.
I ran to the locker rooms and got my stuff then ran to my car. I put my stuff in the boot and looked for him in the car park. I eventually found him leaning on Liam's car alone. I saw this as an opportunity and took a chonce. I found the courage to walk up to him and approached.

A/N: For those who don't know, I wrote a book called 'We Made It' but it was in Harry's pov (some chapters were in Louis' pov). I decided to write this book so people could read how Louis felt in the situation. I hope you enjoyed this chapter <333
