(The camera pans to reveal all of the first-years standing before a witch dressed in green. This is Professor McGonagall.)
McGonagall: Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you house points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup.
"You haven't changed the speech at all, Minnie," James says. "We had the exact same speech."
"I believe that if it worked for you, it should work for everyone, Mr Potter."
(Neville Longbottom spots his toad croaking at McGonagall's feet.)
Neville: Trevor! (He jumps forward to catch his toad; catches the lookon McGonagall's face.) Sorry. (Backs away, embarrased.)
"You're so much like Alice, Neville," Lily tells him.
The boy smiles slightly.
McGonagall: The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily. (She leaves to go into the Great Hall.)
(The boy Emma met on the train, Draco Malfoy, steps forward, flanked by Crabbe and Goyle.)
Draco: Is it true? What they were saying on the train? Harry Potter and his sister has come to Hogwarts.
(Some of the students are heard whispering Harry and Emma's names.)
Draco: My name's Malfoy. Draco Malfoy. (Ron snorts. Draco looks at him.) Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley. Well, soon find that some wizarding families are better than others, Potter. Don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there. (extends his hand to Harry.)
Harry: (cooly) I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks.
(Draco glares. McGonagall returns and taps Draco on the shoulder with a sroll of parchment. He leaves Harry with one last glare.)
McGonagall: We're ready for you now. Follow me.
(She leads everyone through two large doors and into the Great Hall, where there are four long tables with thousands of students, as well as floating candles. The roof appears to be the sky.)
Hermione: It's not real, the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it i Hogwarts: A History.
"Her and that book," Ron mutters. Hermione hits him with said book.
(Harry is seen scanning the crowd, trying to pick out Emma.)
Harry: Where do you think Emma is? I thought your brother said he was taking her up to the castle.
Ron: Eh. Whatever happened to her, I'm sure she deserves it.
"Ron!"
"Sorry."
(Harry looks at him angrily and whacks him.)
Harry: She's my sister!
Ron: And?
Harry: I care about her! You might not are for your sister, but I do!
Ron: (Goes a shade red) I do care for my sister!
