Walking into the school we attract attention and for a moment I wonder why. Then I remember not only is my face black and blue, but Tobias is walking beside us. After people are done silently questioning how this happened they crowd us and talk to Tobias. Alice is thriving with the attention. I, on the other hand, was not a huge fan of being smushed into Tobias's side.
I put a solid amount of effort into escaping the tightly packed crowd but it was no use. Tobias laughs heartily and I'm so close to him that I can feel the vibrations. He decides he needs to get to class and I'm almost swept up in the crowd, but at that moment for who knows why he turns around like he left his bag by me.
The crowd parts for him, and instead of grabbing something from the ground like I thought he would, he grins mischievously at me. He then picks me up by the waist, lifts me to his shoulder, and continues walking.
He's freakishly tall so if I tried hard enough I could probably reach the top of the hall.
"Put me down Tobias," I warn.
"Sorry Princess, did you want to get knocked over,"
"This is public humiliation, you dingbat."
He shrugs, jostling me about and making me cling to him for dear life. He then laughs at my fear, further jarring me.
A few girls shoot me a look that says they're not particularly happy with the situation but when Tobias winks at them, it all seems to melt away.
"We don't have the same first period," I point out.
"I'll drop you off,"
"Tobias," I whine.
"Call me Toby," he says frowning.
"Call me Ben," I offer.
"'No,"
"No,"
A loud shriek takes my attention from the argument.
"Ben," My best friend, Oliver, screeches.
"Put me down god damn it," I start to actually struggle out of his grip.
"Why is he your boyfriend," Tobias teases, holding me tighter.
"Ew, no," I gag.
Oliver arrives with a crooked grin.
"I already heard what was happening but I needed to see it for myself," He says, looking the scene up and down when his eyes find my face his grin is replaced by worry.
I slump in defeat and Tobias makes a surprised noise almost dropping me.
Oliver dives to catch me, which trips Tobias even though he had caught me before. This has been a terrible morning.
My already bruised face is somehow the first thing to hit the ground with Tobias on top of me and Oliver on top of him.
The second the boys sitting on me catch their singular brain cell which must have been thrown into the air when they fell, they scramble off of me and face each other with a glare.
"You tripped me," Tobias says at the same time Oliver says, "You dropped him,"
And thus the argument ensues.
"I did not drop him," Very offended.
"The fuck you didn't drop him, I bet you did that to his face too," he doesn't even look at me just gestures towards me.
It continues and neither of them thinks to check if I'm okay so I take the opportunity to run to my first period.
