How do I keep ending up like this? I once again wake up to Tobias clutching me to him like a teddy bear. I don't even remember getting into my bed. I struggle to free myself from the trap that is Tobias and all of my blankets. It proves to be far more difficult than one would expect and I only can spend a few more minutes struggling before he tightens his grip making escape feel even less manageable and accept my fate, never leaving.
I take in the strong cinnamon scent and realize I fell asleep in jeans. Gross, I am suddenly a whole lot less okay with my life sentence. Even the cinnamon can't save this situation.
But fortunately for me, my sister comes to my rescue.
"Get off your ass dipshits," She says throwing the door to my room open with a flourish, "We've got school, your break is over,"
"Help me," I manage to squeak out past his tight grip.
Her eyes land on me and she doesn't even bother to stifle a full-on chortle of a laugh crumbling to her amusement with her hands on her knees and in between laughs and gasps for air I hear something that sounds like, "Lucky guy."
"I disagree," I gasp out assuming she's talking about me, "I was kidnapped and returned to my own home,"
I glare at her feeling particularly spiteful at my lack of assistance, "Which honestly I'd rather leave at this point, no one leaves me to suffer when I'm a guest,"
She laughs and Tobias groans awake, glaring at- Well I'm not exactly sure who or what he's glaring at, but whatever it is he is glaring ferociously.
"What time is it even," He husked, still not letting go of me.
"Does it matter we have school, and because you idiots broke my glasses we are supposed to get up," I check the time managing to get one arm out of the now conscious Tobias's embrace, "Twenty minutes ago,"
Upon realizing what that means I go back to struggling and finally succeed. Not even bothering to shoo anyone out of my room and yank a pair of jeans out of my closet and mine off.
I pull the new pair on and a shirt off the rack. It ends up just being a black shirt with a middle finger poking out of the pocket. Back to the point about my glasses, I once again fell asleep without taking them off and they are once again missing.
I groan and run down the stairs my mom hands me an iced coffee and I hear the echoing laughs of Alice and Tobias.
I run back down the stairs and gesture them forward. Tobias doesn't bother to change and Alice was already dressed. They both follow me downstairs, Alice collecting her hot coffee and my mother offers Tobias the choice of either or tea and he settles with tea. Before grabbing something from his pockets and fiddling with it.
I grab my bag from in front of the door and grab my keys from the hook running outside and jogging to the bus stop. Alice and Tobias rush after me still chuckling Tobias had shoved whatever it was he had been fiddling with back into his pocket and they both catch up to me quickly. It's something to be said that Alice was in stilettos.
Eventually, I skid to a stop in front of the bus stop, or what I presume to be the bus stop seeing as there's a crowd of students staring at their watches. Alice struggles with the sudden stop and wobbles almost falling forward before Tobias sticks a hand out to keep her from falling and accidentally grabs her in some awkward places.
I ignore them deeming it no longer my problem now my sister was no longer in mortal danger. While I reflect on it im surprisingly bitter. Now my sister and my- Friend?- get a stereotypical high school romance, while I sit in the background making sure that they still passed their classes.
