Chapter 8: Family reunion

Jorge was in his office doing paperwork, he was sent to the world of shipgirls before David did and had some experience as a Commander, he could work on paper for 5 days straight without eating nor sleeping due to he and David both being physically enhanced super soldiers.

"One more batch. I'll probably do a spar against David, it has been a while since we sparred." Jorge said as he grabbed the last batch of paperwork as someone knocked on the door. "Come in!" Jorge shouted from inside the office.

Then a group of shipgirls including the Yamato sister's entered the office.

"Yamato what's wrong? Is there something you want to do with the Eagle Union?" Jorge asked the empress of Sakura Empire.

"Shinano had a dream yesterday. Shinano tell commander Jorge what you saw" Yamato told her to her youngest sister.

"The dream was about sir David and commander Soren. They-" Before she could have finished Jorge stopped her.

"I know this one. Let me tell you all the full length of it." Jorge said as he cleared his throat.

FLASHBACK

The scene changed to a military base on Reach, there were the young Spartan-II recruits among them was David and Soren.

"Back then David and Soren were really good friends, almost like brothers they worked as a duo in every training course, they almost did everything together such as studying, sparring, and training." Jorge Narrated the past duo.

"David was a bit selfish back then but he always learns from his mistakes, even improving on some and he was also very caring towards the other recruits or trainee's. He was smart, skilled, brave and everything to make him the perfect Spartan." Jorge then told what David's past personality.

"Soren was more of the 'muscle' type. strong and usually clumsy and a lot more naive. But he was always around if needed." Jorge describes Soren.

The scene changes to see Doctor Halsey standing in front of David and Soren.

"Doctor Halsey our advisor was more interested at David for his fast learning skills. This made Soren a bit jealous at how David was being viewed, fame was something Soren wanted but David was about duty and honor." He explained to the girls. 

The scene changes again to see the Spartan's getting their augmentations.

"When the time for augmentation's arrived, that was where the tables or as I would say 'Fate' Changed for both of them." Jorge says in a serious yet calm voice.

"David's augmentation's were a success, from it he gained any normal Spartan-II would, except he was a little more faster, stronger, and a bit more smarter. However..." He then paused before continuing.

"Soren wasn't so lucky, his right arm was deformed but was able to wear a MJOLNIR just fine. But seeing how David was more perfect he became more envious. Soren was positioned and became an assistant at ONI which made him more envy of David due to him being at the backline." Jorge then described

The scene changes once more to a different planet.

"Then on February 2526 just 1 years after our augmentations David and Soren was on a mission together at Charybdis IX and out of nowhere Soren attacked David and managed to damage and shatter a part of his old Mark IV Mjolnir Helmet and injuring him and confessed that he had defected. Soren left David to die, but David was able to be found and recovered by a UNSC search party and later told Halsey and the other Spartan's that Soren defected but wasn't sure to whom or where." He described what happened between the duo

FLASHBACK END

"And then the dream that Shinano had was true. David had killed Soren but he regretted that action afterwards." Jorge finishes the flashback story

"That... Was quite unexpected..." Yorktown said as she was shocked at the story.

"But what about that katana that Shinano talked about?" Illustrious asked.

"I Buried it at a desert. The exact desert at my world." David was standing behind all of them with the door opened.

"You heard everything?" Jorge asked his Comrade which he regards as a brother too.

"Yes, I did." David answers.

"To be exact." Jorge then grabs something from underneath his desk. It was David's original Katana, a Muramasa blade with energy sword modification. "it appeared at my office two days after you arrived.

David was baffled when he saw his old katana again, but he then grabs it and starts to unsheathe it.

*SHHSSSNNN*

The sword was then fully unsheathed, he then inspects both sides and gave it a twirl.

*woosh*
*woosh*

David smiles as he looked at the sword.

"This does put a smile on my face." David said as he continued to twirl the katana before sheathing it back.

A person then enters the office.

"Hey Jorge! I got word from mainland that there is a Covenant attack coming! We should prepare-" The person cuts himself off said person being Soren both him and David locked eyes.

There was an eerie silence as both rivals looked at each other. David grips his katana tighter.

"..."

"..."

"..."

The silence continued between the three Spartan-II's 

"Soren..." David broke the silence as he spoke Soren's name.

"David... It's been a while." Soren said.

The shipgirls in particular were internally panicking as a fight could soon erupt between the two. But to everyone's surprise both rivals decided to shake hand tapped each other's shoulder.

"15 years too long old friend." David said with a good and not murderous voice.

"Good to know that Humanity's true savior is still alive." Soren said with a smile.

Both then separated from the handshake.

"You said the Covenant is coming? Then let's double time it and get this place prepared for an attack." David said as haste was definitely needed.

"Affirmative." Soren says as he went to gear up.

"That Includes you too Jorge." David commanded.

"Alright alright, hold on." Jorge get's up and headed the same way as Soren.

The shipgirls sighed in relief as both didn't fight and went to go get their riggings.

Two brother's in arms now back together to fight a common enemy.
