FADE IN
EXT. HIGH SCHOOL — DAY
IT IS 10:00 A.M.. The sun is high in the air. We open on an aerial view of E.M.A. High School. The bell has just rung. The camera closes in on a window where many students are passing by, and it can be heard that students are yelling, laughing, and chatting inside the high school. The camera pushes towards a window on the third floor and into ——
INT. HIGH SCHOOL — HALLWAY — DAY
Many students are passing through the hallway. Most are going to the stairs to get to the cafeteria. The camera is centered on CHARLES (18), long hair, optimistic, tired of his life.
Charles is walking towards one of the classrooms. The camera shifts to follow him from behind as he walks through the crowd. The camera shifts again to show a front view of Charles that shows his Student Council badge on his chest.
The camera then turns with Charles as he pushes a door open and enters ——
CLASSROOM
The classroom's desks and most chairs have been pushed aside, leaving a circle of chairs in the center. On these chairs are various Student Council members. Only one chair is left unoccupied. Meanwhile, standing by the whiteboard is YORI (17), short, gloomy, hopelessly in love with Charles. She smiles as Charles enters the classroom.
YORI (relieved and annoyed)
"About time! Sit down, Charlie. We were about to start without you!"
Charles snickers uneasily as he approaches the ring of chairs and sits down.
CHARLES (awkward)
"Sorry... The crowd outside was dense as hell. I'm here though. What are we talking about today?"
One of the council members rolls her eyes. TSUKI (18), rough, aggressive, secretly crushing on Charles, shakes her head at Charles.
TSUKI
"Late and unaware. I suppose a Treasurer barely has responsibilities, anyways."
Charles rolls his eyes back. Yori smiles, now turning to the whiteboard.
YORI (joyful)
"The Harana Festival is today! We're just going over everything one more time. Everyone remember their jobs?"
TSUKI (sarcastic)
"Charles does."
Charles sighs as he takes his notepad out. He takes a pen out as well. He flips through the first few pages about the council's expenses. Then there are several mapping charts each centered around the name YORI. He then stops at a page that has the details of the Harana Festival. He rips this page out and stands up, now walking to Yori.
CHARLES
"I remembered my job. I've listed all the expenses and collected the crowd-funding from the different classes. Yori, this is for you."
Charles hands the torn page to Yori.
YORI'S POV
Yori looks down at the page to find all the necessary expenditures listed on the page. However, at the bottom of the page, she sees a small sentence that reads "MEET ME AT THE TREE."
