The Priestess and the Demon

Chapter 5

After spending the whole night crying I figured it would be pointless to keep crying.  I had to find a way to defeat Zayn and found out who he really is.
As I got of bed the maids burst through the door. "Good morning lady Asteria,we were sent by his highness, Zayn to assist you in your wedding preparations",the head maid said.
  She had short curly hair with blue eyes. Her name was Marissa she was my personal maid of honour.
"Please call my maid Zee please I don't want anyone else to help me",I requested her with my head down.
They immediately prepared a rose bath for me.  It smelled amazing. When I stepped into the bath I could smell the roses and vanilla mixed together,it was an amazing aroma and after I washed myself thoroughly and dried myself and wrapped myself in a towel.
As I entered the room the maids were eagerly waiting for me.  "Oh my Lady are you done?,I would love to help you dress" Ziella exclaimed. I smiled at her and asked her to begin getting my outfit ready. Soon enough I was sitting on the bed dressed in a stunning white strapless gown with delicate lace detailing the bodice and sleeves.  After Marissa finished getting me ready she gave me my bouquet and the two maids left the room leaving me alone.
As I stared into the mirror I saw a beautiful young lady in a white veil waiting to get married to a monster. It was my dream to get married to the person I love now it was shattered.  I started to tear up.
As tears started to roll on my face someone came behind me and dried them up."Why is my beautiful bride crying? ". I turned and I saw it was Zayn with a evil smirk on his face.
"I suggest you cooperate if you want your family to survive.  Remember I have your father and mother under my control. With a snap of my fingers I can end their existence. So put on a pretty face and get ready to get married "he commanded. I didn't want to obey his orders and fight back but I cared for my parents. I nodded my head and he disappeared. 
Soon after one of the maid informed me that it was time to go. I stood up with a fake smile and I walked out of my room. As I descended from the stairs I noticed my father was waiting for me to come down.  He gave me a warm embrace "My sweet child" he greeted hugging me tightly.  I hugged him back and we both started walking towards the temple where the rest of the guests were waiting. 
Suddenly everything stopped moving and everything was frozen.  Then Zephyr appeared. "You don't have to do this. Let's escape together.  I promise I will treat you better than my brother"he pleaded.Brother? I was so confused, so it meant Zayn was a demon.
Then I heard the sound of slow clapping."I see my little brother is still naive as always. Asteria is mine!"he said grabbing my wrist. "Tell him darling tell him you belong to me. Remember he almost killed you ""You lier you know very well you were controlling me that's why father banished you",Zephyr growled. "Father was always jealous that I was powerful than him and that's why he banished me and strip me of most of my powers."
Zephyr lunched toward Zayn but he used me as a shieid causing Zephyr to hesitate. "I won't do that if I were you "he threatened with a deep voice. "Now be a good boy and go back from were you came from". With that the ground crumbled beneath Zephyr and he was sucked into a portal."Zephyr! "I  screamed in desperation as I tried to get free from Zayn's grip. The portal closed quickly and I collapsed into the ground. A few seconds later everything was back to normal like nothing happened.  Zayn pulled me and we walked towards then alter.
He whispered into my ear "Your prince won't save you now so I suggest you cooperate my  darling. " He gave me another nasty glare. The music started playing and everyone turned to look at us.
The priest started the ceremony but I couldn't focus because all I could think of was what happened to Zephyr and if he was okay.  I was so distracted that I  didn't hear the priest asking me a question. "Asteria do you take Zayn as your lawfully wedded husband?". I looked at my parents and then I looked at Zayn who had murder in his eyes as he gazed at me. "I do" I said and he gave a triumphant smile. As the priest made the last vows the guests cheered loudly for our marriage.  But I couldn't concentrate because I kept thinking about Zephyr and wondering what would happen to him after this event.
Once we walked off the alter hand in hand we sat down at our seats. The king and queen came up to us and congratulated us on marrying.
After everyone had congratulated us it was time to go home to my parents house and pack my belongings.  When I arrived home my bags were already packed and my parents waiting for me. I hugged them
and they both embraced me in return. My mother wiped a tear from her eye.  My father handed me a small gift. Inside the small bag was an engagement ring and it had a small diamond heart shape. "This belonged to your grandmother and her mother before her so it might not suit you", He said sadly "It looks perfect" I replied reassuringly, "Thank you for everything". He gave me a small kiss on the forehead and smiled. As I watched my parents depart for my bedroom I opened the bag and pulled out the velvet box. I opened the lid and stared at the beautiful diamond ring. It was an exquisite piece of jewellery. I put it on my ring finger and I  started crying.  I needed to escape from this marriage and this monster.
"Lady Asteria the carriage is ready" the maid said. I wiped my tears and  nodded. We both entered the carriage and headed for the castle which is located at the center of our kingdom.
