The Priestess and the Demon

Chapter 2

We went back to home and I jumped into my bed. My neck still in pain after that demon attacked me. I was laying on my bed and I felt a dark presence.  My wolf was feeling uneasy and it started growling. I extended my claws and stood in a defensive position  in front of my bed. The shadow was coming towards me so I used some of my power to stop it. As the shadow came closer the wolf calmed down but soon I heard it whimper. I looked towards the corner of my room where I knew the mirror stood and I saw a dark figure behind it staring at me. My wolf growled louder and I felt the evil energy radiating from the mirror's image. The figure started approaching towards me and I knew it wanted to attack me but I couldn't do anything to defend myself because a rope appeared and binded my hands and my legs. I couldn't break free because the rope was laced with dark magic and it was the only weakness to my spirit animal which is means it's my weakness.   The person stepped closer and I finally saw who it was. The person stopped in front of me,his face was covered with a mask and his eyes were glowing red. It was none other than the demon who hurt me the previous day. I couldn't move and I couldn't breathe,all I can do was stare into his crimson red eyes. He lifted my chin and looked straight into my eyes. "How lovely this little thing is" he said in a menacing tone "so beautiful and innocent". He took a step closer towards me but I remained unresponsive "I think I'll keep this one. What a beautiful girl". He bent down and whispered into my ears "I love your scent and I love that we're connected. Your power is intoxicating".  He stood back up and stared into my eyes one last time before disappearing into the darkness . I was alone now but I still couldn't move and I couldn't breathe properly. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

When I woke up I found myself
wrapped in a warm blanket,with my father lying beside me sleeping too. I got off my bed and walked towards the window. There was a light mist covering the ground and trees and I could see the lake with my reflection in the mirror floating peacefully like in a fairy tale. I took a few steps further and looked closely at the reflections. Suddenly a black raven flew by. It seemed like it was flying faster than the others,it circled around and around me,until it landed next to my feet. Then the Raven transformed into a man and bowed before me. He looked at my face and said with a gentle smile It was Zayn,I wondered why he was doing here. He engulfed me into a hug while caressing black locks. "Asteria I was so worried.  You just stormed out at the party I didn't have time to explain . I know the news of the engagement was sudden but I promise I will protect you and love you as my wife". I gave him a weak smile even though I wanted to punch him in the face. "Zayn I have to go I have a prayer to do"I lied.  He gave me a sad smile,but I couldn't help but feel guilty for making him leave. He hugged me one last time then kissed my forehead. Then he turned into his bird form and flew away. I sighed heavily and returned to my room.  I laid down on my bed thinking about the demon and how we met. Then he suddenly appeared by my side. I let out a scream but he closed my mouth.  But his eyes were now silver. "Promise you won't scream if I let you go"he said in a deep,seductive voice. My heart was doing blackflips and I nodded my head. He let go of me and I gasped for sweet air. I looked at him and asked, "Who are you?". He answered with a sly grin, "You really don't remember me do you?". I shook my head in denial and tried not to cry. He smiled sadly and sat down on the chair besides my desk as he looked at his pale hands. "Well I guess I better start explaining then". He looked at me and said "My name is Zephyr  and I am the son of the king of the demons." "You are the son of the demon king"I gasped. "Yes love" he said while pushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "What do you want with me?Why did you attack me when we first met?"I said angrily.  He looked at me with an evil grin and I could sense his intentions. He stood up from his seat. "I want nothing from you except a taste of your blood,for my thirst is growing more every minute". I felt fear fill inside me but somehow managed to stay composed and kept calm.He then cupped my face and stared directly into my eyes,"Don't worry love,I won't make you do something bad. But once I bite you I cannot take my hands off you unless you give me permission". He licked his lips seductively and looked at them "Your lips look so good,so soft."I immediately stood up and grabbed a bottle of holy water and splashed it across his face. Holy water was a demon's weakness and I knew I was going to win. All of a sudden he started laughing as if he heard something funny."Oh how cute ,you think your glorified water will defeat me. Perhaps you forgot young priestess I am the crowned prince of hell simple water can't defeat me"he said while his eyes turn crimson red,his claws and fangs extending  to their fullest extent.  "Don't underestimate our kind young priestess." He said in a cold voice. He raised both of his hands ready to attack me. I threw a dagger at him which was aimed at his chest.He dodged the dagger effortlessly and laughed.  "Do you really think you can win against me"he sneered as he reached towards me.I ran to the side to dodge a fireball but I wasn't fast enough. He caught me under my leg and lifted me into the air. When he was done holding me in the air his eyes were red and angry as he stared into mine. His eyes were shining bright red in anger.I extended my canines and bit him causing him to let go of me and I came crushing down the floor . I shifted into my wolf  form while running away but the demon's magic still held me tight. He picked me up once again and threw me against the wall. I landed harshly on my stomach,making me scream in pain. He threw a spell in me direction sending me flying through the window and onto the roof. My whole body was aching badly. The demon followed me with his magic "No" I whispered weakly. I slowly pushed myself up and stood up. He was standing next to the window looking at me smugly.I took two slow steps backwards towards my tree,as my wolf's body began to heal.I summoned all the magic power I had and I made a force field so it could keep him away till I recovered.  He started banging on the force field, I knew it couldn't stop him for long so I shifted back into my human form to conserve my magic and let my wolf heal. I took the dagger that my  father gave me when I finished my training.
*flashback*
"Asteria my oldest child you have completed your training as a priestess so I gift you with this dagger. This dagger has been passed down from generation to generation in our family. It has the power to kill even the demon king but such power comes at a great price so use it wisely"he said with a stern face. As I held the dagger in my hands it was the most beautiful dagger I have ever seen . It was made with silver and  had a beautiful design carved on the blade. On the hilt there were five diamonds that formed a perfect square shape like a star. The blade itself was curved and the handle was white and shiny. "It must be special because no human would have chosen it especially after learning about its powers". "Thanks dad"I said hugging him.  "But if you ever land in a situation that you need to use it you must use all your mana in order to make it more lethal and you must stike the demon's heart and it will kill it. Make sure you strike at the heart Asteria or else it won't kill  the demon but only makes it stronger so you should be careful". My father explained before he turned into his wolf form again and flew away. I was now on my way home and I thought about everything that happened. My dad's words replayed through my mind as I walked home.  "I hope everything will work out"
*End of flashback*
I held the dagger in my hand and channelled all the magic power I had. Soon he broke throw the force field with ease. I only had one shot so I couldn't mess up .I  lunched at him and aimed for his heart.  However the moment I was about to hit my target he grabbed my wrist and flung me away. I crashed into a tree hard and slid down it until I stopped by the roots. He grabbed the dagger and stabbed it deeply into my shoulder. "You've done a lot of damage young priestess you deserve much worse." I screamed in pain while shaking with fear and shock. I looked up at him. His red eyes had turned black. He pulled the dagger out of my shoulder and I dropped to the ground gasping for breath.I fell unconscious.  When I woke up I was laying in the same position. The pain was unbearable. My shoulder ached badly and my ribs hurt like crazy. I tried moving but nothing moved. "Where am I"? I groaned painfully. I looked around but saw no one. I crawled forward carefully to get closer to the edge of the cliff. The moonlight illuminated the rocky walls.I noticed a black raven and it shifted into Zayn.   He stood on my right and stared at me with a blank expression.  "Can you tell me what happened"? I asked while rubbing my aching shoulder. "You were attacked young priestess" he replied emotionlessly. "Attacked? "I questioned and everything started to flood in. "Take me to my father!"I demanded. I needed to warn him about the demon especially since I missed and he had become stronger
