After 9 years, I returned to Coonoor. If I hadn't had a reason, I would never have returned to this place in my life.
Coonoor was a beautiful hill station surrounded by mountains. People used to come here for vacation but now it is closed.
Every time I came to Coonoor, I had a purpose; first, I finished my graduation here, and now I needed to conduct some research, so I had to stay for a month.
I didn't know what happened after I got refreshed in the Guest House, but I decided to relive my old life, so I went to that old tea stall where I used to sit during my college days.
When I noticed a familiar face sitting there, I became very excited and
“Shankar Sir, Do you recognise me, sir? "I, GIRI!"
I guess he didn't recognise me, but he asked me to sit beside him on a bench, and he began looking at his wristwatch for the time.
"Where is your famous silver-colored watch, Sir?"
“Do you remember? My daughter Pooja took it along with her, America. She used to say to me. "Daddy, this watch makes me feel as if you're right next to me."
My heart skipped a beat right there when he mentioned his daughter.
Pooja is Shankar sir's daughter and my first love.
First love is always very innocent, and first love taught me that if you love someone, you will love everything about her.
Meanwhile, Shankar sir was trying to recall my identity, and his next question distracted me.
"What is your name?"
"My name is Giri, Sir."
"Were you the topper of your class?"
"No, Sir, I am not that Giri."
"Who led the volleyball team?"
"No, I wasn't..."
"In any case, leave it..."
And we talked for an hour before I promised to meet him again and went back to my guest house.
Coonoor, I came here for my graduation and didn't like anything about the city at first, but when Pooja crossed my path, I fell in love with it.
Pooja and Giri, People used to say that matches are made in heaven, but ours were determined by our professor.
I was in her group for a group presentation, but I would occasionally skip class because I disliked everything about that college.
When I was returning to my pg after class one day, she interrupted my path.
She was worried about my absence and what would happen if she had to give that presentation alone.
“Is your name Giri?”
"My name is Giri."
"Please try to attend classes on a daily basis; it is critical for our presentation." I would commit suicide if you missed any classes."
My heart rate increased as a result of her voice, and on the other hand, everyone was staring at us.
"OK, I'll do it."
I ran away from there after a split second.
I started attending every class the next day, and we did a group presentation together. Over time, we became good friends, and we used to eat lunch together in the canteen and gossip for hours in the tea stall.
When I was in college, I had no idea when I slept there.
I spent the next few days doing research.
In the midst of my hectic schedule, I had forgotten about my promise to Shankar sir to meet him again.
