Expired

Chapter 3

After school we proceeded to go to Luke's house for the bands rehearsal. I was still thinking about my expiration date. I wanted to tell Luke, Calum, and Michael but I didn't want them to go behind my back and turn me in. So I decided to talk to Luke in private first. I had a feeling I could trust him.

"So Luke there's something I need to talk to you about..." I said as we were sitting in the rehearsal room. The rest of the boys were setting up the equipment.

"What's up Lily?" He said sounding concerned.

"Ummm its about my expiration date..." I answered.

"Lily can you help me get something from my room?" He asked changing the subject immediately.

I walked upstairs with him still really confused about what was going on. We got upstairs and he immediately grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his room.

"What the hell was all that about?" I questioned still puzzeled.

"Umm we needed to go somewhere where no one could hear us." He answered.

"Why?" I asked kind of pissed. He was silent.
"Why Luke?!"

"Because I don't have one!" He replied very quickly and then immediately covered his mouth.

"What do you mean you don't have one?" I asked very confused.

"They didn't give me one, okay." He answer sounding really scared. He started crying.

I hugged him. "Luke its okay. If it makes you feel any better... I'm expired." He immediately pulled away as soon as I finished my sentence.

"Wait does that mean your supposed to be dead?" He asked under his breath.

"Yes Luke im supposed to be dead." I replied my voice shaking. Then I started to cry.
"How did you get away with it...you know, not having one and all?"

"I got a fake one.." He answered.

"Wait you got a fake expiration date?!" I was yelling at this point.

"Shhhh keep it down they might hear you." he whispered.

"Who's they...." I questioned, "the boys don't know do they?"

"No they don't..." He said under his breath.
