An Attempt

Jisoo POV:

It's been about an hour and a half since Chaennie's confession, and we're about to land. I can feel the helicopter dropping. I'm starting to get anxious, even though I have to keep my cool. I'm the oldest one after all. Lisa, the youngest, doesn't even seem too worried.

"Hey Limario, aren't you nervous?" I turn to Lisa.

"To be honest with you, yes I am. But we have to be brave," Lisa nodded, leaning on my shoulder. I looked over at Chaennie and found them sleeping.

Without hesitation, I pull Lisa into a hug and smash her lips on mine. She hums and pulled my hair slightly.

"Get a room!" Jennie's voice makes me pull back.

"What did I say about interrupting them..." I hissed to Lisa.

"Don't blame me! I didn't say anything!" Lisa groaned. "At least since you've warned me."

"We should start making a plan," A tired Chaeyoung mumbles. "Just so we don't get off completely clueless."

"I agree," Jennie nods.

"Of course you agree with her," I roll my eyes.

"Do you not?"
"Fine, I do. But judging by the altitude, we probably only have at most five minutes before we land."

"When did we learn how to judge the altitude of a helicopter? Was I absent?" Lisa jokes, as she looks outside the window.

"We can't waste time, come on guys," Chaeyoung demands. "I think it's best if we try to find a crowd, or something. From what I know, there is a forest nearby. We can go into there and try to hide for a while."

"A few flaws. First, we've got no money, or food, or water for that matter," I began.

"Did you not pay attention in the gear room?" The three of them stared at me.

"What?"

"There was a life straw there, water problem fixed. There was some money there, money problem temporarily fixed. There wasn't food though, but we can buy it," Jennie rolled her eyes.

"Food would be nice right about now," Chaeyoung muttered.

"Food's always nice for you," Lisa stated. "So... how much cash do we have in total? I've got 30,000 won on me." (around 22 USD)

"I've got 10,0000," Chaeyoung says.

"I've got none," I shrug sheepishly.

"Jennie?"

"I'll throw up if I look..."

"Well, 40,000 won isn't a lot to work with, but we'll be fine." I sigh.

"I think I had at least 20,000 won," Jennie adds.

"Good enough, we don't need too much to eat, especially after yesterday's meal," I nod, happy with what we have.

Suddenly, I hear the helicopter let out a loud sound, and Jennie screams. Luckily for us, the helicopter just landed, in the middle of the beach.

"Once we get out, we have to run," I remind them, and they nod.

"Now!" Lisa yells.

We rushed out the doors and began to run towards the forest. My legs start to burn and I thank god that we were all once on a track team. It feels like an eternity when we finally make it to a tree. We quickly hid there and sit down, breathing heavily.

I lean on Lisa and kiss her once, before trying to get my breath back.

"Too bad you don't have long legs," Lisa mocks.

"At least my short legs are perfectly able to run-"

A crinkling in the bush makes us glance over in fear.

It's the man who kidnapped us all.

Jennie's POV:

I grab Chaeyoung's hand and begin to run. Dizziness engulfs me, but I can't stop. I can deal with it. Either that or be captured again.

"Stop right there!" A familiar man's voice screams. "Or I will make you!"

"Keep running, don't stop!" Lisa yells.

We all run, side by side, making sure not to trip on anything.

"Stop, or you will regret it."

We don't stop. Until I feel the worst pain ever throughout my body, and double over.

"Jennie!" The three of them scream, but I can barely hear them. Am I dying? Why am I dying? Why does it feel like I'm dying? I don't think this is a part of being motion sick. It feels like I've just been hit by a truck and shot in the chest. Am I crying? I think I'm crying, I can't even tell.

"I told you not to try to escape. I knew I couldn't trust you," I made out the words he's saying. He grabs me by my collar, and I let out a groan of pain.

I think I'm about to die, I definitely am.

"Let her go!" Chaeyoung shouts and they stop running.

"N-no, go, run..." I cough out, but I have a feeling I was too quiet.

"I will give her back. But you will have to come with me and complete the mission."

I shake my head, only making the pain worse.

"Dammit. Please let me g-go," I cry, and I can see the man smirking. I muster all my strength to punch him, but it ends up just hurting my fist.

"Crybaby," He mutters, before turning to the three girls. "Well, what are you going to do?"

They are whispering something and I can see doubtful looks on Jisoo and Lisa's faces.

"What about you only take me? I can hack pretty well, and there will be less people, so less chance that we get caught," Chaeyoung suggests.

"No!" I scream. "Chaeyoung don't, I'll be fine!"

"She clearly won't be. I think I'll decline your deal. How about those two-" He points at Jisoo and Lisa, "-go do the mission, and you two come back with me."

We all glance at each other, and they nod. I'm dropped from the man's grip and he puts me and Chaeyoung in handcuffs, connected... together. My stomach feels like it's doing flips, and I can't decide if it's because of Chaeyoung, or the random pain I got.

"Good luck on your mission," I say, before somehow fainting.
