It's already been ten minutes since school started and I am in my bed. I got up and did the usually morning stuff like eating breakfast, brushing my teeth, etc but I went straight to bed afterwards. I decided to give this day to myself to try and focus on what the hell is going on in my mind right now. I told my parents I wasn't feeling well and although I know they didn't buy it one bit, they still let me stay home which I am grateful for. Michael and i usually meet up at our lockers to walk to first period together but he hasn't texted me at all asking where I was. Obviously I was a little hurt by it but I also need to take into consideration that he was given new information that his best friend liked him so that would take some time getting use to.
Luke has texted me a couple times asking if I was coming to school but I told him not to worry about me. During the time that Michael and Alison started dating, Luke and I started getting really close and I am so thankful for him because without him, I would literally just be in my room all day.
A knock on my door brought me out of my thoughts. "Come in" I softly shouted
"Hey honey" my mom said as she walked in and sat at the end of my bed. I gave her a light smile.
"So do you want to tell me the real reason you wanted to stay home?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
I sighed. Should've known my mother would be the one to know that I was lying. Guess you would call in a mothers intuition. "I like Michael" My mom was no secret to wanting the two of us together. She would talk all the time about how we were perfect for each other, but I would just laugh every time and shrug it off. This is the first time I'm telling her this out loud.
"Honey, I know" she laughed and sat closer to me and i got out of my blankets to sit criss cross facing her. "Your eyes light up every time I talk about you two as a couple and I always notice you blushing and hiding your face from him too"
"I told him how I felt about him" I said, hugging my knees to my chest as a way to comfort me from the embarrassment I felt from last night.
Her eyes went wide as if she wouldn't expect me to share my feelings with him. "And what did he say?" She asked, but judging by her face you can already tell she know the answer.
"He just said it was a lot to take in" I shrugged "I left right after and haven't heard anything since"
"Aw honey it's okay, at least your feelings are now on the table. When he's ready to talk about it you can only go from there" she smiled and leaned over to rub my back as comfort.
"Thanks mom" I smiled and hugged her.
"Oh! By the way" she started as she pulled away from the hug. "I totally forgot the reason I came up here in the first place" she laughed as she now got up and I just looked at her funny wondering what she was going to say.
"Your friend Luke is downstairs" she innocently smiled.
I lightly smile came on my face. He's so sweet, but my mom and I was probably talking for about ten minutes which either means Luke is alone downstairs or my dad didn't leave for work yet and he's chatting with Luke.
"Did you leave him with dad?" I laughed.
"Well he sure is chatty. Your father was about to leave for work but Luke wouldn't stop talking to him about the most random things " she laughed. "We opened the door and he said he was here to give you a get better soon care package."
"I wonder what that means" I laughed at the fact that my dad was probably struck my Luke's talkative nature as my dad is more reserved.
"So what's the relationship with you and Luke?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows
