Hihi! I, the super awesome author, promise to spoil all of my readers rotten with my amazing story telling and general unnecessary (also undeserved) self-flattering!

"No, no, silly! You have to say it like this!" Teagan said, then she giggled hysterically, holding up her dark haired, blue-eyed doll.

"I am doing just a fine job, thank you very much!" I yelled. Well sort of, I could never yell at Teagan, she was too full of life and fun and the awesomeness only a best friend could see.

"Here's how the epic line has to be delivered though, it's really important, Ari!" Teagan paused for dramatic effect, and I found my 8-year-old-self holding my breath. "Its life or death, Jane, will you marry me?" she said in an exaggerated deep voice for my character, Alex, who was supposedly in love with her character, Jane. Little did she know that I was going to plot twist the entire story in about five minutes when they are about to kiss at their wedding.

"Of course, of course!" I agreed, waiting for my chance.

"Oh yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I will marry you, Alex, for I have always loved you!" Teagan said, she had always been the romantic one.

"You were so pretty the day I met you that I knew I would ask you to be my bride one day, when the sun is shining as beautiful as you!" I make my doll, Alex, say in a deep voice.

"Wait!" Teagan interrupts, again. "IRL for a second! Are you saying that Alex is only marring Jane because she looks pretty?"

"Uh yes..." Then I realize that I have given my entire plan away, "Err, no, she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is one the outside! Obviously!"

"So, if she were to be dramatically tortured in the next five minutes by my scissors, Alex wouldn't ask her to marry him?" Teagan points out.

"Would you marry a doll who got a royal face chopping?" I ask her, "I wouldn't!"

"But, but..." Teagan seems to be at a loss for words, "That is so mean, only to like someone for their looks! What about how nice they are? Why doesn't someone's personality matter?"

Thats Teagan for you, she could hold a rally for justice on pretty much any topic that she believed wasn't right.

"Ok, I see your point," I said compliantly, "Allow me to rephrase."

"My dearest Jane! I fell in love with your appearance the very day I saw you, but upon further hanging out with you to know you better I discovered that your personality is so attractive I want to marry that instead!"

Teagan howled with laughter and started rolling around on the floor with her doll. Jane's hair was getting messed up, but I didn't say anything because I don't think I could stop myself from giggling any longer either!

"Happy now?" I had asked her.

Teagan was too busy laughing to answer, and I joined her a second later, rolling on the floor laughing.

That was 6 years ago in 3rd grade, I thought back to those good old days.

Now Teagan and I are starting 9th grade at New Spokane High.

I LOVE school! It's my happy place, so I am super excited to start, but I also am feeling sad. Maybe I've seen too many movies about high school drama where besties break up are go on their own separate paths, but I don't ever want that to happen to Teagan and me.

No overgrown bully girl or principal's daughter will ever, EVER mess with Teagan and I, because even if she doesn't think it is necessary, I will watch my back, and hers.
