( this size font is flashbacks)

If you wanted to know how everything started. How we all ended up here.  How we ended up in North Denver. Let me take you from the beginning. It all started when my sister was born.

"It's a girl!" The doctor stated handing the beautiful baby girl to Thomas. He was mad but he didn't want to show it.

"A girl?" He said confused.

"The doctors said it was a boy?" He asked holding the baby.

"Guess it was a mistake" She said changing gloves.

You see my father never wanted another girl. He wanted the basic one boy and one girl. So when the doctors told him it wasn't a boy and it was a girl he was disappointed. He immediately wanted to try for a other kid. He wanted to keep his family name going. He needed it.

They tried and tried. But she just couldn't get pregnant again. He forced my mom to go to the doctor about it. The doctor told my mother that they needed to have a semen analysis and a sperm analysis.

My father was furious.

"Are you seriously suggesting that you not being able to get pregnant is my fault!!!" He screamed from the dining room table.

"No honey. That isn't what I'm saying. The doctor said that to find out what's going on she needs samples from the both of us. Not just one" my mom explained.

So after a long two nights of arguing he went with her to get the tests done. They waited for a week or two for the results. Now if you think that my father came to his senses and realized he had a beautiful family in front of him. No he didn't. They tried for a couple years before my father forced my mom into the test.

My father was never home and when he was he was drunk. He was never around alot. I helped my poor tired exhausted mother take care of my sister and myself. I don't hold it against my mom that I didn't get a childhood. I held it against my dad. It was his responsibility to help my mom. It wasn't my job because I was still a kid too.

"What do you mean it's my fault?" Thomas yelled loudly. The doctor flinched.

"Well the tests show-"

"The tests are wrong. Or else I wouldn't have had two daughters already!" He exclaimed loudly.

"Yes sir but you both struggled to make them both. It took years to have a successful pregnancy. And Maxine was a miracle. You are to old to have anymore kids" the doctor explained to the fumming man as calmly as possible.

Now this is where everything slowly falls into place. But not in the good way. My father became less n less like a father everyday. We barley saw him or spoke to him. As I got old I slowly started realizing how shitty of a person he was. No..not was. Still is.
