Suspension

We sat in the principles office, I think I had about another five minutes left to put an ice pack on my eye before it started turning black, but I don't think the principle cared as he dialled our parents' numbers.

Jake was glaring at the both of us and Jungkook wouldn't look at me, but he didn't seem angry, he didn't argue like Jake did when the principle called his mum. My parents were last but they weren't picking up, no matter how many times the principle was trying, "sir, if it's alright my mum can always listen in for Y/N, she says she's like a daughter to her." There he goes again with the lies, but it seems to work as the principle stops calling them, and we wait in silence for Jake's dad and Jungkook's mum to appear.

I'm not sure how to feel about Jungkook lying for me, and I'm not sure why he does it either, but it saved my ass so I guess I owe him. "Sir I'm sorry but I think Y/N should have an ice pack for her eye, otherwise it'll bruise worse than it already has" Jungkook spoke beside me, I didn't realise he had noticed but I gave him a tight smile when the principle allowed him to go out and get one.

When he returned he had a woman with him, who I half recognised as his mum, and she gave me a wink as Jungkook handed me the ice pack. Jake's dad knocked and entered a few minutes after, he asked me how I was and I asked back, seeing as we had met before and were somewhat friends.

"Fighting in the corridors is in no way acceptable, all three of you are to be suspended for a week."
"But sir as I already said, Y/N was actually trying to stop the fight, she was never involved." Jungkook tried to argue back to the principle, though he didn't seem like he was having any of it, "the school has told you thousands of times, if there's a fight you get a teacher, you don't get involved."

I had nothing to say, I was panicking, there was no way my parents would be happy with this, I got a Saturday detention one time for forgetting my maths homework at home, and they decided to leave the house for the whole of the next week without telling me, no money, no note. I thought something had happened since they didn't text me a single word, but when they got back all they said was, "we would've told you but you had detention."

My good eye was going blurry as I tried to focus on something around the room, but even the principles voice was drowning into nothingness, a while passed, I wasn't sure how long because it was as if I couldn't breathe, someone grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the room, that's when I really went downhill, my breathing quickening like I was hyperventilating. They were going to leave again for god knows how long, and how was I meant to survive again with no money? Last time there was a bit of food in the fridge I rationed and Taehyung's family fed me some dinner, but I couldn't rely on them forever.

Suddenly hands were on my face and lips were pressed to mine, I closed my eyes and inhaled Jungkook's scent as he pulled me closer. I blinked when he pulled away, feeling dizzy, I put my hand on the wall to steady myself, "are you alright?" Jungkook asked, only now did I spot his mum behind him, this was embarrassing... "yeah, no I'm good I'm fine, everything was just a bit much, that's all-" Jungkook folded his arms, I knew he didn't believe a word I said, he craned his neck around, "is it alright if I meet you in the car?" His mum nodded to him and left us in the hallway alone. "Y/N tell me what's actually wrong, I can tell it wasn't just 'a bit much'"

I slumped down the wall, hugging my legs on the floor, and Jungkook crouched down , placing his warm hand on my knee, I told him what had happened before, and about my fears, he wiped my tears with his thumb as he told me it was all going to be okay, he was going to sort it out.
