"Wake up!" I hear a gruff voice shout, before feeling legs untangling from my own. My eyes shoot open and I quickly try to gather my surroundings and let the moment of disorientation flee away."What's happening?" My mouth is dry and I have sleep in my eyes. I'm wide awake however when I realise Viktor is standing at the window, gun in hand and peeking out of the dirty curtains.
"There's people outside. They're going door go door. We have to go."
"Got it" I say as I'm already sliding my dress back on. Viktor comes away from the window and zips me up without me even asking. I was surprised at first, his fingers were cold.
I grab my gun from the bedside table and take it off safety. Viktor had just put on his T-shirt. I'm pretty sure he left his suit jacket in the car.
"Got the car keys?" I double check.
He grabs them of the top of the tv as he nearly forgot them. Idiota, I laugh to myself. That would have killed him if I wasn't here.
"See them, shoot them. Got it principessa?"
"Got it" we barge past the door. Viktor facing left and me facing right. I hear a gunshot from next to me and Viktor grabs my arm and runs. The click of the car rings in my ears. "Don't look at them" he says to me. Does he mean the dead bodies? Probably, little does he know how unbothered I am. And still, I look away. Fake it till you make it.
I run to the passenger door but before getting in I look up at Viktor, and then at the man with a gun to his head. For a split second I think about letting him do it. But whether i like it or not, I'm safer with Viktor than without him right now.
I take aim and Viktor looks at me in shock. "What are you-" a bang echoes in my ears as the man on the railings drops with a thump. Viktor looks behind and realised who I was really aiming at.
We're in the car and Viktor steps on the accelerator with full force. "Did you actually think I was going to kill you?" I say in disbelief. In reality I would have thought the same thing if I was in his position.
"Of course I did. But despite that, thank you principessa. I would have died"
"Seems like we're thanking each other a lot for that lately" I joke. I lean my head back, still tired from the fast wake up.
I look up to Viktor and he looks unscathed from the stand-off. Good."How did they know where we were?" It suddenly clicks. He's got a mole. But that means, someone knows who I am. Or at least a part of who I am. Merda
"I don't know" he's focused on the road, but I can see his brain was elsewhere, thinking about the question.
"That's a first" I say light-heartedly
"How about where are we going next?" I ask instead.
"The house isn't secure yet. Not until the mole has been rid of. And we need to switch cars, it means stealing but it's better than riding in one they know. If they found us there we need to consider every way they could have done so."
"Your phone? They could have tracked it easily, especially if you don't have any protection on it."
"I'm not stupid enough to not have my security upgraded. But you're still right. I won't be messaging of it, but I need a burner phone."
"We could go to a crowded shop. It's not so easy to pick two people out of a hundred. And we can get a car there."
"It's not a bad idea"
We take the next left and drive for another fifteen minutes until we reach a well known shop.
"We're stealing the stuff inside right?"
"Yes" he replies."Give me your jacket. I'll get the stuff inside. All due respect, but you don't look anywhere near as innocent as me"
"I wouldn't say as much if I were wearing that dress" he smirks whilst taking of his jacket. But half way he realises "why do you need my jacket?"
"I don't have pockets you idiot. You want me to carry it out in my hands? No one looks that innocent." He proceeds to give me the jacket with no more arguments. I turn around but add a comment "I'm choosing to ignore what you said about me dress" I hear I faint laugh as I walk away. Did I make him laugh?
Seeing as I'm stealing I might as well grab a few necessities. After picking up the burner phone I grab deodorant. We both smell. A water bottle which I open and drink just enough to make it look like I brought it in with me, a hairbrush that I put in the large inside pocket of the jacket, and two small sandwiches. I take the phone out of the box and put it to my ear as I walk around. Making sure to catch the eye of the security by the door. I take the shortcut through check out. So that if he saw me it would seem like I paid. I walk past whilst I talk "I'm on my way don't worry, I didn't find it anyway" I sip the open water as I leave.
No one questions me as I walk out. Viktor pulls up in front of me in a basic fiat 500. "You good?" He leans over and pulls the door handle open from the inside so I could get in. "Got the phone and more" I start pulling out what I got.
"You done well" Viktor said in surprise.
"You underestimate me" I mock."Sandwich?" I offer.
"I'm driving"
"Not like it's the most illegal or dangerous thing you've ever done" I point out.
"Fair enough" he raises his eyebrow in recognition and takes the sandwich from me."Do you have any money left on you? It's probably not smart to use card"
"I have €60 left. Enough for a night at a cheap place"
"Hopefully things are sorted by then" I say aloud.
We drive around for a while. It's less awkward than before. Which is nicer considering everything that's happening right now.
"That man from before" Viktor says "the one that was about to kill me. The one that you killed first." I can already tell where this is going. Not good. "Are you not guilty? Do you not feel emotional? It's normal for normal people to feel those things are taking a life. Let alone at the club."
"I- I don't know. I guess I'm in shock. It hasn't really sunk in. The past few months have been crazy. So; eventful? I'm not sure what I'm feeling any more." It's not entirely untruthful.
He nods in recognition. As if not knowing if I'm telling the truth of lying. But he shocks me when he says "I truly am sorry you were dragged into this mess. And I'm even more so that you can't get out of it"
I don't know what to say. My mind goes blank. "Cat got your tongue?" He laughs. He has a nice laugh. Wait. Stop! No. Don't be so stupid Nadia.
But even as I think it, I can already feel that I'm not listening to myself. I fear it might be to late to 'stop'. I've been stupid haven't I. I actually care about some of these people. Idiota.

And scene!
Hello bitches!
Yes again, I am back. As you can tell by the amount of chapters I just edited. Life's been kinda crazy lately. (So many bloody exams) but I'm going to try to do a chapter a week or something like that. Although this chapter isn't as long as I'd like, you'd be surprised by how long it took to write
Anyways, until next time!
