*Alex's POV*

Next up on 94.2 is Oh What A Night

I reached over turning up the radio. This was my favorite song.

Oh, what a night

Late December, back in '63

What a very special time for me

As I remember, what a night

Oh, what a night

You know, I didn't even know her name

But I was never gonna be the same

What a lady, what a night

I tapped the steering wheel along to the beat of the song. I passed the Welcome sign. I was back "home". I could feel the sarcasm, but this was one of the only places I knew really well. It wasn't the fact that I didn't have any opportunities to travel I had plenty but I never wanted to go alone. I pulled up to the apartment building I would be staying in. I pulled in to the carport and saw 3 other cars. The lady I talked to about renting the place said that no one was here at this time of day except her, so who were the other two?

Someone walked out and waved. Who the fuck could that be? When he got closer I recognized him. Adam. God he had changed from the skinny little kid he was. I mean he was still skinny as fuck but taller. Now he had a shit ton of piercings and had black hair with the tips a different color. The only reason I recognized him was because of the way he walked and his eyes. They were a weird reddish color.

"Yo, Alex It's Adam!" He yelled waving his arms like he wasn't noticeable enough.

I got out of the car walked and started getting my bags and skateboard.

"Adam what the fuck? How did you find out I was moving here"

"My mom's friends with the lady who owns the building. Here let me help you with that," He reached out and grabbed one of my bags. He could barely lift it. "God what do you have in here rocks?"

"No it's just some of my lighter weights you fucking baby," I said taking the bag he took and walked toward my new apartment. I unlocked the door and walked in. The place looked like shit but who cares it's not like I need much.

"So Alex how long until the rest of your stuff gets here?" Adam had followed me inside. I looked over and rolled my eyes.

"This is all my shit, if I need any other shit I'll go buy it," I stated, "Anyway I'm hungry as fuck, is that café still open?"

"You mean Scott's?" I nodded "Yeah it's still open and it's not to far from here either."

"Lets go then," I said walking out of my apartment.

*At the café*

When Adam and I got to Scott's Café we ordered and sat down.

"So do you plan on staying here for long?" Adam asked.

"Maybe till graduation," I probably wouldn't, Adam was the only one here I could really tolerate for long. Except of course Rose. I always liked the kid for some reason ,but last time I checked, she fucking hated my guts. Not that I blamed her.

"What cha thinking bout Alex?" I looked up quickly and my frown deepened, his accent sounded weird. He seemed to notice and cringed.

"First of all I was thinking about that chick what's-her-fucking-face we used to go to school with and second off what the fuck was with your accent just then," I sure as hell wasn't about to admit to thinking about that brat. Especially to this little fucker. He'd try and set us up and I doubted Rose would be up for that.

"Well then first off there were a lot of chicks that went to school with us ,but the only one I can think of you'd remember is Rose ,second you're imagining things nothings wrong with my accent ,third why are you thinking about Rose?" He raised his fucking eyebrow at the last one.

"Yeah I guess it's the chicks name and that's bullshit but I'm going to find out about it later and lastly, nothing just wondering if she was still around," like hell was I about to say I actually sorta liked her.

"Now it's my turn to call bullshit but ya know I'm going to let that go cause I know I'm going to figure it out later," he smirked. God at this point I wanted to grab some thing and fucking stab this little shit. "Oh and by the way Rose and I are actually really good friends being the school outcasts."

"Outcasts? Ok so I get why you're an outcast considering all that," I gesture to his face and hair, "But why is Rose an outcast?" She always seemed nice and like she had friends or at least I though she did.

"Because of Peter making fun of her about being a lesbian because everyone thought you and her were together. She says she's not a lesbian but no one believes her ,and surprisingly people in Kansas aren't quiet accepting of that," the last part was dripping with sarcasm. "Of course things got really bad when you moved away because no one was afraid you were going to bet the shit out of them for saying something to her."

"Hm well that sucks ass for her," damn I almost felt bad for the kid ,but mostly I was angry at the little fuckers who think it's ok to talk about someone like that. "So she's not a lesbian?" Whoa what the fuck where the fuck did that come from.

Adam just shrugged at me and smirked. "Oh look our drinks are here," he took his from the waitress and winked at her. She rolled her eyes and gave me my drink.

He said nothing else about Rose no matter how much I questioned him. We both got up and left.

*Adam's POV*

I drove home smiling. I hadn't expected to run into Alex, I had been visiting Rose. Looks like the girls are neighbors now. I could tell them, but I won't they need to figure it out for themselves. I've wanted them together for years, they would be a perfect match. Now all I had to do was watch and wait and give them a little push when needed.
