*Rose's POV*

After school I rushed to the parking lot trying to get to my car as fast as I could. I would normally wait up for Adam but today he'd have Alex with him and that would mean I'd have to talk to her ,and that's the last thing I wanted to do today. The news that Alex was back had spread like wildfire thanks to Peter. He made sure everyone knew. All day people had been giving me sideways glances and in any class Alex and I had together people kept looking at us like they expected us to start making out or something.

No matter how many years passed everyone still saw us as a couple and nothing I could do would ever stop that. i kept going over ever scenario in my head trying to figure out how to get myself out of this mess. I was nearly to my car which meant I was that much closer to home and a Doctor Who marathon.

"Rose! Hey Rose wait up!" that voice was unmistakably Adam's. I turned to see him waving and Alex followed him looking bored. Looking around i saw everyone else focusing on them and me. If there was one thing Adam knew how to do it was draw a crowd. I let my bangs fall in my face and looked at the ground as they approached.

"Hey Adam," my voice barely above a whisper "Alex". Alex just nodded and then adverted her attention to the cars.

"Yeah so I was thinking we could go to Joe's get some coffee and catch up a bit," Adam smiled looking back and forth between me and Alex. I looked at Alex trying to see what she thought of the idea ,but her face betrayed nothing.

"Um I don't know Adam I have a lot of homework and I'm not sure if I can finish if I hang out with you guys," I lied. I could finish all my homework with plenty of time left over even if I did go with him.

"Come on Rose we haven't hung out in like forever! Plus you can do your homework there and help us with ours," Adam practically yelled. He was wrong though the three of us had never hung out ever. We were all too different from each other and everyone else. Then Adam did the big puppy dog eyes that he knows I can't say no to. He scared the crap out of people who didn't know him ,but to his friends he was really nice and bubbly.

"Sure couldn't kill me right?" I attempted to smile but it felt forced. I looked at Alex who still appeared uninterested.

"Yeah and what about you Alex?" he turned to look at her lifting his eyebrows.

"Not like I've got better shit to do," she shrugged and looked away. If she was anything like I remembered she pretty much expressed nothing except disdain.

"Alright then I'm going to pick up my laptop and some other stuff i need for my homework then I'll meet you guy's over there," I said then turned on my heal and headed to my car.

This was going to be an interesting afternoon. I could feel it. I just wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. I sighed and got in my car to go get my laptop and notebooks.

*Alex's POV*

It was obvious Rose didn't want to be around me. She avoided me all day and if it weren't for Adam's begging she wouldn't be going to Joe's. I should just go ahead and add her to the list of people who wished I had never been born. She was just one of the one's who didn't have the backbone to do shit about it.
