Friend or Foe?

I was looking for the man/woman who exposed the police officers on the Stanton's payroll. I have to know who it is and why they are doing this. I found a computer hacker and had him look the anonymous whistle-blower. Hopefully he finds the person soon.

I was able to resume corresponding with my family in Germany.Lexi is now 5 months pregnant which means I have to get her and Charlie back here on the double. She surprised me with some great news. We are going to have another boy. I was hoping for a little girl but Lexi likes having boys. Her words" when they grow up. ..I don't have to have the 'talk' with them. That's your problem!" She said with a giggle. Oh well... so long as the baby is healthy is all that ultimately matters to us. We decided to name him when he was born. Lexi then went a head and dropped the bombshell on me after that.

"We are coming home in 2 weeks Ethan." she declared. I couldn't let it happen. Peter and Kevin are still around and they are still too dangerous for my pregnant wife and 3 year old baby to be around.

"Lexi please,"I begged."Don't come back until I've delt with your brother and father. They will hurt you two and I won't survive the loss. They can't win!"

"No Ethan. We need you and you need us. Sue and Johan are trying to rebuild their relationship and they can't do that when I have a pregnancy craving or Charlie wants a cuddle. We need you now. You can't come here so we will return home. Two weeks Ethan. Get ready for us." And then she hung up the phone.

Great. Just fucking great.

The next morning I was looking through my emails when I saw on from a sender I never heard of. I clicked on it and saw a simple message.

"You are looking for me Mr. Metzger. You won't find me unless I allow it."

I responded "Who are you and why are you helping me?"

He responded quickly. "You don't need to know why or who I am. I have my reasons and they benefit you. I mean you no harm so don't worry about me."

I replied back. " You saved my life. I want to thank you in person if nothing else."

It was quiet for a minute before" Very well. The bookshop with a cafe in it in Starkhaven. Its the only one there so you should find it. I know who you are so I will find you. Meet me in 1 hour. Go to the cafe and wait for me there. If I don't see you at the allotted time...I will leave and you will never hear from me again."

I replied quickly. "Deal. See you soon"

I got up and got ready to go. Starkhaven was a 40 minute drive away on the north side of the city. That left me 20 minutes of wiggle room. I got dressed and headed out.

I arrived at the bookshop with 15 minutes to spare. I grabbed a cup of tea and waited for the mysterious hacker to show up. I was sipping my tea and playing on the phone when a guy my age sat down across from me. He was a skinny guy with a malformed arm and a busted leg which forced him to walk with a cane. Aside from that he was just a regualar looking guy with light brown hair and a kind and curious face.
