Michael sighed, shaking his head in stress as the report he was typing up seemed almost interminable. His knuckles buckled with each swift motion on the board that held his keys, and he mentally complained as he continued to write it up. He was stressed. He was getting married in two months. When he should've been with his wife to be, planning his wedding and hopefully looking for the future to come, he was cooped up in his office, typing a report up.

Nothing serious — just light work.

He couldn't face his fiancée though, he physically couldn't do that to her. He knew deep down he didn't want to marry her, because he was so hopelessly in love with a woman who had moved on with her life. She moved away, only about twenty minutes though, but still she was gone. She had lived a life.

Aavya.

The thought of her made him shift in his seat. He could feel the temperature rising around him. He looked down to his watch which read "17:58".

Michael sighed once more. The work day was coming to an end. He didn't want to face his fiancée, though, so he continued working and kept himself occupied.

Suddenly, two knocks sounded at the door. Briana walked inside with her belongings and flashed a smile. "I'm gonna' head out,"

"Okay, did you complete those documents? I need them by tomorrow," Michael advised her, and she quickly nodded.

"I emailed them to you,"

Michael looked at Briana and noticed she was dressed up. "And where are you off to tonight?"

"Aavya's in town so we're getting dinner. She's picking me up, actually." She told, and she looked to her watch. "I need to get going,"

Michael felt the world stop around him. In town? Why was she in town? And she was in the parking lot? Briana noticed Michael's state, and she sighed.

"I didn't mean to tell you that to make you all—"

"No," he interrupted. "It's okay, seriously. I need to finish working, anyways..."

Briana bit her bottom lip, seeing she knew he had so much to say to her. Briana looked behind her, then turned back. "If you want to talk to her, she'd be down with that."

Frowning, Michael responded, "Really?"

"Yes," Briana mumbled. "She's been talking about it for some time,"

Michael fixed himself, and shrugged. "I'd be okay with that,"

The moment he'd been waiting for was finally coming, he just didn't know how soon. Michael missed her. He craved her. He yearned for her. Before Michael could make any other sudden move, his phone lit up with a message.

Aia.

Michael quickly looked to his phone and sighed.

"I can't," he told Briana. "I need to work,"

Briana frowned, but didn't question his decisions. She nodded, waved, then closed his office door, and walked away. Michael sighed, shaking his head, and began typing away at the computer.
