Tip-toeing around the wooden, creaky floors of her condominium, Aavya double-checked that all of her children were sound asleep in their beds, before heading to her patio with her Marlboros, her cellphone, and her cup of coffee. Soon, she sat on the comfy chair that decorated her patio, followed by immediately placing a stick in her mouth, lighting the cigarette, and dialing a phone number.

Releasing the smoke from her mouth, she waited for it to ring, before hanging up, re-dialing the number, and then placing the phone to her ear once more.

Soon the phone was answered, and a gruff and out of breath Michael answered the phone.

"Fuck, that was almost close." He said, and Aavya frowned.

"I called twice like usual," she said, and Michael nodded.

"Yeah, but she was up early for some reason and we were talking,"

Aavya sighed, realizing their secretive phone calls could increasingly become a problem. Aavya and Michael began sneaking around on the phone together since Thanksgiving, which was one week prior.

They usually called around two-three times a day, one being as early as six to six-thirty AM, and as late as eleven to eleven-thirty PM. They had a routine of calling the other twice, to signal who it is, and to give them time to find a private area. They vowed against anything physical until Michael and Aia either separated or full-on divorced, but knowing them, that will probably not be respected much more.

Sayir and Aavya officially broke up, however they stayed friends. He was in her kids' life because she did not want him to leave completely because of how much help he'd been. They had a plan of him coming over a couple times a month to check-in on the kids, but also so the two remained a friendship. Even though it didn't work romantically, they still had a platonic connection that was deeper than anyone could fathom.

Aia and Michael were... confusing. Considering Aia had moved back to her old place after Michael called her Aavya's name during intimate moments, the two realized they needed to work through their marriage. The only thing is Aia wanted to actually fix it, and Michael wanted to end it. Because now, Michael fully had Aavya back in his life, not on a physical level, but to an emotional level, but he never spoke of that with Aia. Instead, he agreed to sign up for marriage counseling, knowing he had no plans of continuing his marriage.

He was a little lost and confused.

He also knew the risks of a divorce. He knew that it was not possible at that time. Even though he dreamt of it, he knew it wouldn't be possibility. Their marriage was so technical, it would be an excruciatingly complicated process that involved a lot of lawyers.

Aavya continued smoking her cigarette, before Michael spoke up.

"I thought you already smoked for the week." He said, and Aavya frowned. Michael knew her routine of just one cigarette per week, two if she was really stressed.

"How'd you know I was smoking?"

"I can tell by the exhale. You're stressed about something, what's wrong?"

Aavya ashed her cigarette, before sighing, and sipping her coffee. She was stressed, stressed about sneaking around on the phone with her boss's husband, and even more stressed about life itself.

"Aside from us engaging in an e-affair, Mikayel's first game is this weekend and I'm worried he's not going to be ready for it. He's been nonstop at the gym and practicing, but with everything going on, and the constant switching between my place and Kevin's, I feel like he has so much on his back." Aavya said, and she shook her head. "I don't know, I think I could be reading too much into this but I just want him to be happy."
