Rainbow Friends X Reader

Before

It was a shitty school day, it was a Thursday and Y/N was already tired in their 4th period. The bell rung, finally.. Stepping out of their classroom, they got through the halls. One of their friends approached them.

1ST PERSON

"Hey Y/N!" Loran exclaimed as he catched up to me. "Yo." I responded. "Have you heard?" He asked me, I shook my head walking outside to eat lunch. "What!? Shit well then, Mr. Davrez explained to us that all three of our classes deserved a long fieldtrip! Though he said it's a surprise. Jackson and Jackii were discussing it with me and Mylo." Loran rambled on and I sat down in the far corner of the field where teachers wouldn't go often to check on students, Loran joining beside you. "Guapo overheard Dr. Yuvin and Mrs. Ephrit talking about an amusement park and festival for the weekend!"

I ate my lunch in pure silence and hummed, "Sooo our conclusion issss..." Loran gave me a look of glee, I thought about it. "..Odd..World?" I mumbled. Hell I haven't been there in a long time..When was the last time I went there?.. I thought to myself, "Bingo!" He smiles, I just blinked. "Odd World! Best thing is, we get to go tomorrow after school ends!" Loran continued. I thought of it, a whole weekend with friends and classmates from school. It would be weird but I'll get used to it. 

"Well then...er..I'll try and encourage my mom to let me go. But I doubt that she will." I stated.  My mother has been struggling after my father's death. She hasn't been doing well, but she does her hardest for the both of us. I always find her sleeping on her desk, papers scattered all around and pen on the ground.

I'd put a blanket on her everytime and just let her sleep in peace. She doesn't let me go out on fieldtrips sometimes mostly because she's afraid to lose me. But she does tend to let me sometimes just so she doesn't seem like a burden to me.

The bell rung again and we got up, packing up our lunches. Walking back inside the school, Loran went to the opposite direction that I was going. I headed to Mr. Davrez's classroom as he was my 5th period. "As you may have apparently heard from your friends who have me for 3rd and 4th period. We will be taking you guys and the other two classes out to a fieldtrip for the weekend. You guys have been working so hard and.."

I was beginning to zone out, Man..what if my mom doesn't let me go? Miss out the fun?.. I'd be sad but then again. Grandma and grandpa are far away. Uncle Carlos was just extremely busy nowadays. A pink slip of paper was passed onto my desk and I looked around, everyone else's were white. "This one is especially for your mother, Y/N. Just so you don't have to miss out." Mr. Davrez said. I stared down at the paper and nodded. "Thank you Mr. Davrez." I mumbled.

The final bell rung and everyone stormed out of the classrooms. I was the last one to leave the classroom since I didn't want to be shoved around. Stepping out into the front of the school, mom pulled up and I slipped into the front seat. "How was school sweetheart?" She asked as she gave a soft smile. "It was great mom. Eventually we're having a long fieldtrip tomorrow." I stated as I unzipped my backpack and pulled out the pink slip of paper. "Oh really?..Where are you going?" She asked as she stopped at a red light.

"Don't know, but it's a surprise honestly. Everyone in 5♤ is guessing it's Odd World." She began to drive again as soon as the traffic light turned green. "Odd World huh?.." Her voice began to go a little quieter. I stared and stopped talking, the rest of the drive home was just silence. Mom pulled up into the drive way and parked. Both of us stepped out of the car and walked inside. "I've...been sort of wondering if..I can go?.." She paused midway of her walking up into her office.

"..Well sweetheart I..." There it was. I quickly held out the pink slip of paper to her and she grabbed it reading it. "Darling..I know you wanna go badly but.." I sighs softly and gave a small smile.

"It's alright mom, I understand." She stares in silence. "I'll think about it, okay?.." I flinched, she's never said that before of all times in all fieldtrips I went and didn't went on. I just nodded and walked to my room, and just did homework. An hour and a half passed, I finished homework quickly and just got on my laptop to see that everyone in the friend group were on call. I decided to join it.

"Dude it HAS to be Odd World! I've done my research and noticed that they'll be having a festival over there! Plus it is pretty far away and yet-" Guapo was talking as Jackson took notice of me and said hi. "Oh hey Y/N, you're mom let you go or?.." Laron asked "Well she's says she'll think about it which rarely happens. Let's just pray." I stated. "Damn, well ya wanna play some Jenga on ROBLOX with us?" Jackii questioned.

I was about to answer until I heard the door open and close. "Hold on, I'll be back." I stepped out of my room and went to go check what it was. A note was left on the door. Grabbing the note, I read it.

Hey Y/N, there's some leftovers in the fridge. Tiana called in and she needed some help since Winston just ditched her at work. So I'll be back home late. I also left you your answer about the fieldtrip. Go check the fridge. Love you sweetheart - Love, mom.

I was nervous, I walked to the fridge and found the pink slip held by a flower magnet. I grabbed the slip and looked at it. Bursting into my room, "She said yes!" "WHAT REALLY?" "WOOOOOOO!" "LET'S GO THE WHOLE SQUAD'S GOINNNNNN!" Everyone happily celebrated. We began to then play Jenga and other games. Then fell asleep nicely.

Man I'm gonna love this fieldtrip.
