"Ugh! The party already started, they are probably wondering where I am," I muttered as I walked into the pharmacy.
I walk up to the cashier with four bottles bottles of pop. I thought that I should help out at least a little with the party. The lady at the counter rang up the first bottle, looked up, and paused. I could see the fear in her eyes as she looked at something behind me.
I was scared to look, so I just stood behind me. I stood there for almost two minutes as I heard the shuffling behind me, cries of scared people running, and the loud bangs of punches and gun shots.
"Turn around!" The man behind me yells.
I stood still.
"Turn around!" He orders,"Or I'll shoot!"
I turned my head to see the masked man, eye to eye.
"Get over there!" He yells.
I peered over to the corner of hostages that he pointed to. I didn't move.
I saw him grab his gun and aim it at me. I still didn't move.
"You have five seconds to move," he screams at me.
I didn't move, not because I was scared about what they were going to do to me, but out of the curiosity of what would happen next.
A single tear fell from my eye, the gun went off.
The last thing I remembered was my last happy thought and seeing the color red as I dropped down to my knees.
"I'm sorry Jake," a tear fell from my eye as I closed it.
