I had been sitting alone for a while, I don't know how long due to the room being underground, but it was more than a few hours till Dream returned.
The familiar sound of the portal whooshing signaled Dream's entrance was quickly followed by another whoosh and talking.
"I need your help for one more thing ok," Dream's voice was first as I continued to lay curled up so they might think I was asleep.
"You do know I'll charge extra," the voice was familiar, but I couldn't put a face to it.
"Ya ya, I've got extra payment- but I think you'll be interested in this."
I heard a chest open before the sounds of Dream shuffling through its contents. The shuffling stopped shortly after it began as Dream began speaking again.
"I know this works; I just need to know a little bit more about how and when."
"What is it?"
"The revival book."
"No way, dude," the voice sounded surprised with a bit of fear.
"Yup."
"Ok, well, how do you know it works?"
Footsteps began walking towards me. I saw them walk up in front of the crate and kneel.
"Get up. I know you're awake." The crate was picked up, tossing me from my position. I looked up, seeing Dream's bright green eyes staring at me through the bars. Behind Dream stood the other person, who I now recognized as the mercenary Punz.
"Why do you have a cat?"
"It's (y/n), and she's my proof that the book works."
"What do you mean?"
Dream opened the door to the crate before throwing me out of it. I managed to change before I hit the ground and landed it, wobbly but on my feet.
I took the opportunity to run toward the portal. Looking up, I saw a ball land in front of the portal, and purple smoke revealed Dreams figure.
"(Y/n) don't make this harder than it has to be," dreams face was stern.
I took several steps backward into a body that grasped me tightly, making me jump. I struggled against Punz's grip.
"You know I can hurt so many of your friends using you," Dream walked towards me, "don't make me do that."
"Ok, so I don't understand how she is proof."
"Go ahead (y/n)," Dream said, "tell him."
"It works," I spoke softly.
Punz looked to Dream with a confused look before I spoke again.
"I was dead," my voice was weak, "until he drug me back here."
Punz's grip loosened slightly as he held me.
"See!" I could nearly hear the crazy smile on his face.
"So, what's your plan? To test the book, how?"
"I need a test subject," Dream said, scheming with the other.
"Well, I think you have one right here," Punz pushed me towards Dream.
"I don't know how many times it works for one person," he caught me, "and I need her alive so someone else before we figure out just exactly how it works."
"Ok, well, who exactly are you going to get? Everyone will notice if someone goes missing. They've already got search parties searching for (Y/N). Someone else going missing would raise suspicions."
"Maybe not someone, but some people?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm sure dear (Y/N) would even be willing to help us out, wouldn't you." Dream's grip on my arm tightened as he leaned to my ear. "And before you answer, remember just what I can do."
I let out a simple nod.

AN- as I said in my post last night, I am so sorry its taken so long to get this out. band camp hit me like a bus and then college ran over me and showed no remorse... its fine tho I've got everything set up now and were running smoothly. My dorm room may be the size of a shoe box but at least the music department is gonna go see the traveling show for Hamilton this year.... so that's fun. Anyways I'll see y'all whenever I can get the next chapter out, thanks as always for being so patient and amazing!!
