Tw: manipulation

"I honestly wish I was"

His voice haunted my thoughts for days as I was sat curled up in the corner of the dark hallway.

I was planning. Scheming how to escape this place. He has to be lying. They were searching for me... they just couldn't find me because this place is so far out of the main lands.

The plan I had come up with was to wait till he started repairing his tools and attempt to sneak out by crawling towards the portal while transformed.

Being a cat would make me both smaller, quieter, and faster incase I needed to run.

Dream also wasn't quiet when he was repairing his gear, the sounds of hammers hitting chest plates to remove dents and the grinding of blades would cover any sound I may make.

Eventually he began the process of repairing his armor. This was my best chance.

It was my only chance to learn if he was actually telling the truth... if the others actually didn't care for me.

I stood up and began making my way to the glowing purple portal in the main room. My paws patted against the cold obsidian as I quickly walked in an attempt to make it there before he was done with the armor.

I had made it to the platform which held one of Tommy's disks. A smile plastered on my face as I walked forward to the purple light that symbolized my freedom.

I didn't think about how hammering of metal had stopped and how Dream could hear me scampering towards my freedom.

I didn't think about that until the swirling portal shattered leaving just a cloud of purple dust falling where it once stood. I turned around to see Dream sitting at his small table, one hand placed on a button.

"(Y/N)."

He stood up making me shift my body closer to the floor.

"What do you think you're doing," his voice was soft as he asked.

"I- I just want to see my friends," I shifted back to a human form so I could stand at least somewhat at his level.

"(Y/N), how many times do I have to tell you," he sighed, standing from his chair, "they're not looking for you."

"You're lying," I raised my voice to him "they're looking for me! I know it!"

"They're not!" Dream yelled, making me flinch away, "you want to know what tommy is doing right now (Y/N)!"

"What? What is he doing Dream!" I yelled back, matching his level.

"He's searching for his disks," he motioned to the two stands which held the black vinyls. "He stopped searching for you to find two vinyl music disks (Y/N)!"

That hit me like a truck.

"I'm sorry," he softened his voice walking up to me and placing a hand gently on my arm.

"No you're not."

"I am," his voice was gentle as he removed the white mask to show his soft green eyes. "I cared for you (Y/N)."

"You don't care for me," I fought back tears as I spoke.

"I care for everyone you lives in my land," He paused for a moment before continuing. "I remember you loved the smp lands."

"I lived in the badlands, not the smp lands," my voice had a bite to it as I spoke.

"No, you lived there before they became independent. Like it or not you were an smp citizen (Y/N). We all cared for you, especially sapnap. You broke that poor man when you left us."

"That's a lie, if you cared you would've helped me."

"What do you mean?"

"The day I left," I composed myself as I looked up meeting his gaze, "I got attacked by a hoard that night and sent out a distress signal, I nearly died and you all ignored me."

"We respond to every single signal we get."

"Clearly not," I barked back at his statement, "I only made it out due to Wilbur and the others saving me, I owe them my life Dream."

"(Y/N) no distress signal was sent out the day you disappeared. I know, sapnap made me check like five times."

"No- I sent a signal, I even messaged sapnap personally."

Dream sighed before pulling his phone out and typing something in. He showed me his screen which read the day I left to join L'Manberg and an empty box labeled "distress signal count"

"See?" Dream took his phone back. "You know sapnap would've been the first one there, we all cared for you so much."

"You barely knew me!"

"True, but you were my citizen."

I didn't respond. I was at a loss. The signal never went out? They didn't just ignore me and leave me for dead?

"Come on, you must be tired." His hand fell from my arm to gently grab my hand and lead me to a corner with a few blankets and pillows he had set up for me.

I curled up in the blankets, thoughts running wild as I drifted to sleep.

Is this completely unedited, written at 1 am, and probably filled with grammar/spelling mistakes?

Yes

BUT ITS A CHAPTER!!

I'm sorry it's taking me so long to get these out y'all! The recent stuff going on both in the fandom and in the lore for dsmp has kinda driven me away from the content. I still love the old stuff and writing this but it's just hard ya know?
