bruce entered the library, a bit nervous to tutor the vance hopper. bruce didn't know much about vance though. all he knew was that he used to bully him and beat people up almost everyday.
as bruce sat down and put his backpack down next to him, he heard footsteps approaching him.
"let's just get this shit over with. i really don't wanna be here," vance said with a slightly grumpy tone.
"right, what subject do you wanna start with? we've got math, ela, and history to go over," bruce asked with a grin.
vance scoffed, "you think i care about any of that bullshit?"
"let's go over history first then. we won't go to fast, we'll go with whatever pace is good for you," bruce stated.
vance rolls his eyes, whispering, "...whatever."
"do you need a pencil? i have some in here," bruce questioned with puppy dog eyes.
are his eyes always like that? vance wondered.
"what do you think, bitch." vance said as he glared at bruce, just wanting to flip the table over and walk out.
bruce gulped nervously, being intimidated by his glaring, and gave vance a mechanical pencil.
"ms cooper gave me all the textbooks you'll be needing, so here, take them. we're going to be using them throughout the year," bruce explains as he pulled out the books and sets them on the table.
"shall we begin?"

"and that's it. good job today, vance! i need to go get ready for baseball practice now, so i'll see you soon tomorrow," bruce cheered as he packed up his things.
vance ran his fingers through his curly hair, releasing a sigh from his mouth.
vance finished shoving the textbooks into his backpack, then noticed the pencil that was left on the table. it was bruce's.
vance picked it up and examined it for a few seconds. he then shook his head and plopped it into his bag.
vance walked out the door and took a stroll around the area, not wanting to go home yet.
he looked at the glum sky, looking at all the shapes of the clouds.
vance sighed, then began to make his way home.
as he was walking, he heard the noises of bats hitting baseballs, and a man that seemed like a coach talking about aim or shit like that.
vance decided to go see what was going on.
he saw bruce, practicing his batting. he had missed two balls.
once bruce finished his turn, he noticed vance.
bruce talked to his coach, but vance couldn't make out of what they were saying.
bruce approached vance, taking off his helmet.
"hi vance! what brings you here?" bruce questioned with a beaming grin.
vance shrugged, "i dunno. i was walking home then i heard something nearby then i saw you and your team."
"ah, i see.. well, my practice ends soon, so maybe we can walk home together..?" bruce wondered and gave a half smile.
"bruce, we're not friends." vance rolled his eyes to the side and placed his thumbs in his pockets.
"oh, okay. sorry," bruce apologized awkwardly, "do you think we could exchange numbers though? so it's easier to contact each other? for tutoring purposes, of course."
"whatever." vance pulled his phone out of his back pocket, unlocked his phone, open the contacts app and handed it to bruce.
bruce took the phone with both hands and typed his number in.
"text me so i can add you to my contacts too. see you later, vance!" bruce waved goodbye to the taller one and jogged back to the baseball field.
vance just put his hand up and put it back down, and began actually walking home.
