one of the ups being that you're incredibly rich and the better majority of the population adores you!
and one of the many, many downs being... you're getting forced to marry someone.
well, technically not 'forced', but by the will of an old tradition combined with your parents wanting to keep good graces with the next kingdom over, you knew from a young age that you were engaged to someone before you were even born, and you don't have much choice in the matter. and now that you're approaching the age to be married and ascend the throne, it's been decided that it's time for you to meet your apparent fiancée.
with the hope that the aspect of mystery would drive you both together, you didn't even know your future spouse's name, let alone how they looked... here's to hoping you can stand each other, at least
