Bucky sat up, wincing a little as you rolled off him and got up. Your scent had shot into that burning notes of heavy anger and he realized a little belatedly that he had approached this the completely wrong way. You shoved your hands into the arms of your robe as you stalked across the room.

Bucky stood up, his hands tugging through his hair as he said, "Look, doll, that came out wrong."

He caught the pants you threw at his face. "Get dressed and get out."

"If you'll just let me try and explain what I mean."

"I don't care. Get out." You were glaring at him from the corner of the room you'd retreated to, your arms crossed tight over your chest as your foot tapped.

Bucky opened his mouth as he yanked his boots on. "If you'll just—"

"No! Go! And next time wait until you actually reach me by phone before just showing up unannounced again."

Your finger stabbed towards the door. Wincing, realizing it would probably be best to let you cool off before he approached this the right way. He considered and rejected stopping by to see Autumn before he left. He hurried out of the house.

"The hell you doing here?"

Bucky winced for a third time, glancing over at your brother where he was glaring. "Leaving,' he grunted, jogging the rest of the way where he had parked his bike days ago.

By the time he returned to the compound he felt like the world's biggest asshole. His intention was to try and have you see the wisdom in living somewhere like what Tony was building for protection's sake. And now he'd gone and made it sound like he was trying to command you to do it.

His hopes to sneak into the compound unnoticed were dashed almost the moment he stepped foot inside of it. "Hey, Buck!"

Bucky's shoulders hunched as he turned towards Steve's voice, groaning when he realized both Tony and Sam were with him. Just fucking great. Steve gestured him over and he went reluctantly.

"What?" He asked. A little harsher than he intended. Steve's eyebrows lifted in response to his tone. Which just made Bucky's shoulders hunch more.

"I'd like to know where you were the past several days? And why you went completely radio silent." Steve said, his tone even in contrast to Bucky's.

Bucky jerked a shoulder. "I was busy. Things to do. Now I'm tired and I'm going to bed."

Before Steve could say anything else, Bucky turned around and stalked away towards his room. The three he left behind watched him with varying levels of surprise.

"What in the world was that all about?" Steve muttered.

Tony pulled a bag of dried blueberries out of his pocket "Come on old man, can't you tell when someone has spent the past five days fucking their brains out."

Steve looked at Tony in disbelief. "What? That can't be right."

Snorting, Tony shoved the fruit back into his pocket and spread his hands. "If I was a betting man, I'd hazard a guess that he spent those days with his omega."

Looking back in the direction his best friend had disappeared in, Steve considered it. Was that what really happened? And if it did, why was he in such a sour mood about it.
