Halloween was on a Friday this year. The school let us wear our costumes though if we brought a dollar. By then I had already payed back the money I owed to my friends.

I walked to school that day in my costume with a basket and my book bag on my back. Rachel and I were gong to go home with Georgia and spend the night at her house, so I brought an extra bag to hold my extra stuff. We were going to meet up with the guys at around five.

When I walked into school I saw every kind of costume... For younger people. There were superheros, to geeks and nerds, to witches and wizards, to monsters, to tv and movie characters and celebrities. Let's just say I was a story book character, obviously...

It was a b-day. There was something that I noticed about the others in my first two classes but u disregarded it until we got to study hall and then I realized. We were all story book characters. The cool ones though from like the grim brothers, Anderson, and people like that. Not fru-fru stories.

Georgia was the goose girl
Rachel was the snow queen (NOT ELSA SHE SUCKS)
Jake was Jack from the original jack and the beanstalk.
Trip was the steadfast soldier
And Leo was some sort of weird Peter Pan, Peter Piper mix. He even had a little fake rat on his shoulder.

After school I walked home with the girls to Georgia's house. He put all of our stuff in her room and watched tv for a while before leaving to meet up with the guys. I decided I was gonna use my basket as a candy bag. We walked for a little until we reached a different neighborhood. I was lucky I was wearing a comfy pair of shoes. There we saw the guys.

Trip waved at us as we walked walked up to them. "So when are we going to start?" I asked.

"Soon." Leo said turning to the neighborhood. "This is the largest neighborhood in town. This year we are going to go to EVERY house. Even I we don't get any candy."

"And since Taylor is the new one, she's going to knock on all the doors." Jake said chuckling.

"You know what," I said smiling, "I don't really care. I actually LIKE knocking on people doors.... Aaaactuaaaalllyyyyyyy that sounded weird...." Everyone laughed even me.

Soon we started into the large neighborhood and started knocking on people's doors. We went one house after another and I think I figured out our method of going to the houses. We stayed on the left side of the street always.

By the time it was 9:30 we had gone through the outer part if the neighborhood. Now we went for the inside. I wasn't sure if we would be able to do it and my feet were getting tired. I was still smiling throughout the whole thing though.

Eventually we came across a house that was having a Halloween party open to any trick-or-treaters. I refused to join the party at first but my friends eventually convened me. We walked in, drank some punch, danced around, and the next thing I knew, I was alone.

I looked around awkwardly and started to walk around looking for a familiar face. When I realized I was having no luck, I found a somewhat peaceful spot and sat down. Little kids were no longer around, everyone left was my age or older. I was very uncomfortable. I watched as people laughed and danced and talked to their friends.

After a while I was lonely and sorting out the candy in my basket. Some guy walked up to me, he looked to be in the 11th grade. I just wanted him to go. I was left behind by my friends and I didn't know where I was. But he didn't leave. He did the opposite of leaving.

He sat down next to me and put an arm around me, "Hey there sexy, you here alone?" He asked.

"Leave me alone." I blandly said scooting away from him.

"Aww c'mon. Don't be that way, I just wanted to know I you needed a friend of sorts." He said scooting closer to me again.

"No." I stood up and looked at him, "I don't. I already have friends that aren't trying to score chicks. Now leve. Me. Alone!"

He stood up. He was much taller than me. What did I get myself into. He pushed me into a nearby wall, "Nobody EVER talks to me that way." He grunted in my face. I clenched my eyes shut, not knowing what he was going to do, and not wanting to know.

All of a sudden I heard a familiar voice. "Leave her alone!" I looked over and saw Leo. He was alone as far as I could tell.

"What are you gonna do about it pip-squeak?!" Asked the guy letting me go and throwing me on the ground.

"I'm gonna make you regret what you just did." Said Leo. What was he gonna do? He was scrawny and short. He had no buff at all.

They got closer to each other and the guy too a swing. Leo dodged it with his hands behind his back and kicked him in the shin. The guy was enraged and tried hiring Leo again, but again Leo dodged him and kicked him in the shin. This went on for a while until Leo decided to finish off the fight. Leo went behind the guy and grabbed my hand. Yeah I said finish, I meant run away.

"C'mon we gotta go!" Leo said to me. We ran out and down the street and stopped at the end of the street. Luckily the guy wasn't following us.

"There's someplace I want to show you." He said to me after we caught our breath. He pulled down on my hood to make it go over my eyes, "and I don't want you to peek." He added chuckling.

I laughed as he took my hand. I wasn't sure where we were going or where exactly I was anymore, so I put my full trust in Leo. It seemed like we walked for about an hour before we stopped, but I knew that was just because of the fact I was "blindfolded".

Eventually he pulled the hood off I me and in front of me there was this beautiful lake. We were no longer in the neighborhood, but in a light forest. I looked around then back at Leo. All of a sudden, Leo leaned in and kissed me. He pulled away blushing and looked down. I stared at him surprised. What just happened.
