(Sorry I had to start a new Chapter, I was having issues with the previous one)
[It was now Thursday afternoon, three days after the pair have arrived at camp half blood, they now have their first sword fighting lesson. Everybody from cabin eleven gathered in the big circular arena, where Luke would be their instructor]
Everyone leaned forwards wanting to see how this lesson would play out after seeing the siblings combat lesson.
[Luke started with the basic stabbing and slashing, using some straw-stuffed dummies in Greek armour. Percy was struggling with find a blade that felt right in his hand, they were either too heavy or too light. Luke tried his best to fix him up, but he agreed that none of the practice blades seemed to work for him. Amara stood at the side looking bored]
"I already knew all this, I just wanted to get it over and done with" Amara groans as Yelena laughs at her sisters misfortune.
[They moved on to duelling in pairs, Luke announced that he would be his partner as he was new, and Amara was not moving from her spot, leaning against the tree]
Camper: Good luck, Luke's one of the best swords man in the last three hundred years
Percy: Maybe he will go easy on me [The Campers snorted in reply]
"His not anymore" Amara sang as the campers rolled their eyes fondly at her.
[Luke showed Percy thrusts and parries and shield blocks the hard way. With every swipe, he got a little more battered and bruised]
Luke: Keep your guard up, Percy.
[When Luke called for a break, Percy was soaked in sweat as Amara was watching in amusement. Everyone swarmed the drinks cooler. Luke poured ice water on his head, which Percy done the same. Amara watching Percy ducked her head to hide her smirk]
Poseidon, Percy and Amara smirked.
Luke: Okay, everybody circle up! If Percy doesn't mind I want to give you a little demo
[Percy looked extremely nervous. All of Hermes cabin gathered around, all suppressing their smiles. Amara was watching closely, her stoic face back up and arms cross]
Luke: This is difficult, I've had it used against me. No laughing at Percy, now. Most swordsmen have to work years to master this technique.
Percy puffed his chest out arrogantly causing is mom to slap the back of his head making him mutter a sorry to her.
Yelena completely baffled at this, hearing Luke explain what technique he was demonstrating, remembering learning it when she was 8. She looked towards her sister with a slight frown.
"Mara" She calls her earning a hum letting her know she is listening
"Why did he say years to master" She acts confused.
Amara was about to reply but Yelena question gained a lot of attention.
"What do you mean why?" Grover asked confused "It does take years, some Campers who have been their for years, still can't do it" As some campers and Chiron nodded in agreement.
Yelena shakes her head "Nu hu, I learnt it when I was Eight, I think Mara was younger" Earning many shocked looks from both campers and Gods.
Amara looked at her baby sister with slight sympathy, knowing she was still struggling to realise the difference from the Red room and the real world.
"Lena, it's because they wasn't raised like us" She explained softly earning a 'oh' as she nodded her head in understanding.
Many winced now realising why Yelena asked Amara that question.
[Luke demonstrated the move on Percy in slow motion. Sure enough, the sword clattered out of his hand]
Luke: Now in real time we keep sparring until one of us pulls it off. ready Percy?
[Percy nodded then Luke came after him. Some how Percy kept him for getting a shot at the hilt of his sword. Percy stepped forwards and tried a thrust of his own. Luke defected it easily. They went at it for a little while, it was clear that Luke was pushing more as his eyes narrowed. Percy's blade hit the base of Luke's sword and he twisted, putting his weight into a downwards thrust. Clang. Luke's sword rattled against the stones. The tip of Percy blade was an inch from his undefended chest. The other campers were silent]
Percy: Um, Sorry
Amara: Why the fuck are you sorry? [Amara chuckles in disbelief]
The campers who weren't present gaped at the screen at seeing how well he did on his first go.
Poseidon smiled proudly.
Luke: Sorry? [As a grin broke out on his face] By the gods, Percy, why are you sorry? Show me that again!
[They tried again, but instead this time there was no contest. The moment their swords connected, Luke hit his hilt and sent his weapon skidding across the floor. After a long pause a camper said]
Camper: Beginners luck?
Luke: Maybe. But I wonder what Percy could do with a balance sword
"It wasn't beginners luck, you got you strength from the water" Poseidon explained.
"I know that now" Percy nodded.
[On Friday they had climbed the climbing wall. Grover has scampered to the top like a mountain goat, Percy done well but the lava had gotten him. His shirt had smoking holes in it. The hairs on his forearm have been singed off. Amara had done it easily with ease as if it was a daily activity for her]
"Isn't that dangerous" Tracy asked in worry for her friend.
"Done worry, we have the best healer" Amara said calming her friends worries, giving Will a cheeky wink making him flush red.
