Part 8

Snippets after the Marriage- 

After 15 days of marriage 

Come all of you let's have dinner. Khushi & Arnav were out for the whole day & both were hungry so came immediately. 

Anjali asked - Mom, what for Dinner today, Mom I am very hungry. So I will eat whatever is made. Both spoke simultaneously. Everyone started to serve on their plates. Khushi put some rice then uncover the other bowl. As soon as she notice the dish, her hand became stilled. there was chicken in the bowl. Khushi & her whole family was pure vegetarian. Most of Their family friends were also vegetarian. Even in the hostel & at working place everyone was aware of it. So they always respected her choice & she never shared a table or meal where non-vegetarian dishes were served.  It was her first experience when a bowl of the non-veg dish was in her hand. A strong smell touched her nostrils & she became nauseated.  She kept that bowl back & picked up another bowl. Arnav didn't notice anything because he was discussing something with his father. Khushi took a bite & tried to suppress her nausea. But at last, she failed & ran towards the toilet. 

Khushi, what happened? Her mother-in-law asked in a worried tone. Arnav stood up & went behind her. She was throwing up in the washroom. Finally, when she was a little relaxed Arnav made her lie down on the bed & asked- Khushi what happened. You were fine when we reached home. 

I don't know Arnav. She couldn't tell Arnav the real reason. She was a little anxious about how the family will react. She just started her life in a new house & was trying to adjust. It can be a big issue for them. But she was helpless. She can not stop how her body reacts.

Arnav you go & have dinner. I will rest for some time. 

Do you want medicine or anything else? 

Maybe a glass of lemon juice but after some time. Please you go & have dinner family must be waiting. 

Arnav resumed his place at the dining table after reassuring his family that Khushi is fine. When he started to serve himself he realized that it was the first a nonveg dish is prepared after his marriage. He was aware that Khushi & her family is vegetarian. He somehow concluded what was the reason for her sudden nausea. Still, he wanted to confirm.  On Arnav's insistence, she explained her situation. 

Don't worry Arnav. It was the first time so my body reacted in that way. After some time I will be habitual. She smiled and snuggled a little more. He patted his head affectionately but his mind was somewhere else. The next day he told his family everything. On that day Raizada family decided that either they will eat non-veg dishes outside or they will only cook at home when Khushi will not be around. In this way, they show that Khushi is an integral part of the family & her choices will be respected. 

After 6 months of Marriage- 

Mr. Arvind Singh Raizada father of ASR came a little early from the office. So he enjoyed his Tea with his wife and daughter-in-law. Soon Arnav also joined them. 

Arnav what type of girl you have married? Mr. Arvind Singh Raizada asked in a serious tone. Three of them were alarmed due to the serious tone. 

Papa what's the matter, why are you saying this?

I had come home early thinking that will get to see some drama in Saas & Bahu. But both of them are not doing a thing. Six months have passed & not even a single fight? Mrs. Riazada you are also of no use. You can at least taunt your DIL sometimes & if in case you are scared of your son & DIL then you can backbite in private. There is no spice in my life. Khushi was shocked after his FIN comment.
