Cassandra woke up before her alarm went off and showered. She put on black jeans with white light jumper and white trainers for comfort, as she would be on her feet all day at work. She should have called in sick but so many staff were already off from work unexpectedly plus she loved working at the library. Making her way down the stairs into the kitchen she poured herself some chocolate cereal and made some black coffee to wake her up.

Sitting at the table facing the garden she noticed two cats, one gray cat the other all white cat sitting in her garden patio staring at her intently. How odd Cass thought to herself. They were both beautiful cats, but what on earth were they doing in her backyard?

Cass finished her cereal and drank her coffee. Sneaking another peak at her garden, she was surprised to see that this time the cats were curled up and looked like they were sleeping. "What the hell. What is up with those two cats?" Shrugging her shoulders she washed her dishes quickly and made her way upstairs to comb her hair and to apply some foundation and eye makeup, blush and lipstick. Cass never left home without applying any kind of makeup, you never know who you might meet on the street. She might meet her Mr. Right one day and had to look her best at all times. Yeah right like that was going to happen any time soon. At twenty six Cass had all but given up hope of meeting her dream guy a long time ago and just focused on working herself to the grave instead. Besides, she was too used to living on her own now.

At the early age of twenty one when she came home from college with her friends excited to tell her parents the good news that she had gotten into university. Her dreams were shattered within a blink of an eye. She found both her parents dead upstairs in their bedroom. The whole house had been turned upside down. The police had said it was a robbery that had gone bad. But Cass didn't believe it for one minute. The robbers hadn't taken anything in the house. Cass believed it was cold bloody murder and she was still trying to figure out why and who murdered her parents.

Looking at her reflection making sure her eye makeup wasn't ruined. Whenever she thought of her parents, she couldn't stop the tears from pouring out. Running down the stairs. Cass grabbed her work bag and quickly checked on the two sleeping cats outside her backyard. To her surprise instead of two cats it was just the gray cat curled up sleeping. It opened its eyes slightly to look at Cass but then went back to sleep. Cass left the sleeping cat alone. Before locking up she grabbed a bowl of water and placed it just outside the back door for the cats in case they got thirsty. During her lunch break she planned to buy some cat food for them and drop it off at home, poor guys must be starving.

"Good morning Cassandra."

Cass put her bag in her locker and locked the door, turned around her back against the locker door. "Good morning Sebastian. Please tell me it's not just me and you and that idiot brother of yours at work today." Cass said, groaning. Seb Smiled at her as he sat on the chair tying his shoelace which had come undone.

"I'm afraid my brother is unwell also Cassandra, so it looks like it's just the two of us holding down the fort for today."

"Great, just great."

"Don't worry, Cassandra, I'm sure we will manage the workload between us."

"Sebastian." She loved it when he gave her his complete attention, even when he was busy.

"Yes Cassandra."

And she loved how he always said her name in a deep drool sexy voice.

Sebastian walked slowly up to Cassandra, the fact that she hadn't heard proved that she lived too much inside her head. She could feel the heat of his body.

"You called me Cassandra?" At once she had goosebumps all over her body and she was tempted to curl her toes.

Clearing her throat. "Yes I did, well, in case you have forgotten we have a bus load of school kids coming in today this afternoon and one of us has to give them a tour of the upper floors of the library." Damn he had forgotten that. He thought he would have an easy day being close to her today winning her over. Damn kids.
